Celebrities graced the Southeast Asian premiere of High School Musical: The Ice Tour, which was held at the Araneta Coliseum last July 10.

"It was wonderful to see a rendition of High School Musical 1 and 2 on ice. We've seen it on TV and onstage, and it's great to see it on ice!" exclaimed teen sensation Sam Concepcion, who played the lead role of Troy Bolton in the Philippine theater run of the High School Musical series early this year. He watched this event with Viva Artist talent Cheska Ortega (who played Gabriella Montez opposite Sam in the play organized by STAGES).

Other stars who graced the opening night's red carpet were Shaina Magdayao, John Prats, Sheryn Regis, Bb. Pilipinas beauties, Yeng Constantino, Rachelle Ann Go, Vince Hizon and his wife Shaan Bermudez, young stars from ABS-CBN's Goin' Bulilit, Makisig Morales, Dennis Padilla, Victor Basa, Gloria Romero, Claudine Barretto, her husband Raymart Santiago and their daughter Sabina. The star-studded event clearly showed that even celebrities are fans of this special rock concert on ice.

The gala event was preceded by a charity day sponsored by Bb. Pilipinas Charities, where reigning Binibing Pilipinas beauty queens Janina San Miguel (Bb. Pilipinas-World), Patricia Fernandez (Bb. Pilipinas-International), and Danielle Castaño (Bb. Pilipinas 1st runner-up) gave kids from Quezon City DSWD, Sisters of Charity, Channel of Hope, Colombian Nuns, and San Martin de Porres an opportunity to watch the opening night for free. Together with former title-holders Alma Concepcion, Mafae Yunon-Belasco, Nina Ricci Alagao, Myrna Panlilio-Borromeo, and Gloria Diaz, they handed out gifts and goodies from Pizza Hut and Snaxx to the kids before they attended the show.

"There's no doubt about it, you will not be disappointed with the show. This is adding a new level of energy to the High School Musical experience, which no one has ever seen before," shared Eric Gravelle, regional marketing director for Southeast Asia and India of Feld Entertainment, the producers of the tour.

The Ice Tour, which has thrilled millions of fans across America and Europe, features a live fusion of upbeat songs, groovy dance moves and team-spirited fun to celebrate the music of the original Emmy Award-winning Disney movie High School Musical, along with its sequel High School Musical 2.

Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour features chart-topping hits such as "We're All in This Together," "Get'cha Head in the Game," "Start of Something New," "Stick to the Status Quo," along with new music from High School Musical 2.

East High comes alive as a distinguished set of talented Olympic skaters headline the cast of the adaptation of High School Musical on Ice. "We have some of the world's most talented skaters to play East High School's own Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad and Taylor," according to Nicole Feld of Feld Entertainment. "They'll be heating up the ice performing chart-topping tunes and signature choreography, and with the ice as the dance floor, this event will be an unprecedented twist on a fan favorite."

Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour runs until July 20 at the Araneta Coliseum. Ticket are priced at P1340, P1100, P900, P640, P350, and P150. For reservations, call Ticketnet at 911-5555 or log on to www.ticketnet.com.ph.
