MYX VJ Search finalist Marco Mañalac has prepared extensively for his role as Alan Strang in Repertory Philippines' production of Equus. This is his very first time to appear in a professional play. He admits, "I am a bit anxious, but I am very excited to step [into] the shoes of Alan. I assure everyone that I will give everything I have to give justice to the role."
Equus is the controversial play that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe topbilled in Broadway, where he had to strip. Written by Peter Shaffer and directed by Filipino thespian Audie Gemora, this play revolves around a stable boy who is obsessed with horses.
Marco is one of the 12 finalists competing in the 2010 MYX VJ Search. This 21-year old cum laude graduate of Ateneo used to be a host of Nickelodeon. (CLICK HERE to read related article)
The local production of Equus will open on July 9 and will run until July 25 at the Onstage, Greenbelt 1. Playgoers who will watch the July 25, 8 pm show will have the chance to party with Marco and other cast members. For inquiries and tickets, please call 0917-5420015.
