Cast members of Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal pose for a souvenir shot at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, former home of the musical play.
The red-haired superheroine will be seen onstage once again as Tanghalang Pilipino mounts the fifth run of Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal this month.
There is a notable difference this time—comedienne K Brosas will join this production as an alternate for the lead character played by Eula Valdes. The sexy star of Hokus Pokus and Bitoy's Funniest Video mainstay will transform into the buxom Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah during the weekends of June.
Eula will perform for the 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. shows on July 1 (Sunday) while K will have her share of the limelight as Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah.
The shows are scheduled to be performed from June 15 to July 1, 2007 for the musical's fifth run and will take place at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza in Makati City. Playing the role of Didi is Nar Cabico, a member of Tanghalang Pilipino's actors company, and alternating with Tuxqs Rutaquio as Ada is composer/musical director Vincent de Jesus.
With a total of 59 shows at the end of this run, Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal would be the longest running musical ever staged by Tanghalang Pilipino.
Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal
by Chris Martinez & Vince De Jesus
Based on Carlo Vergara's graphic novel
A mysterious stone falls from the heavens granting Ada, a quaint beauty salon owner, the ability to transform into Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah, a superhuman warrior endowed with uncanny strength and remarkable beauty. As she fearlessly defends a small town from power-tripping planet women, a giant frog and rampaging zombies, she finds her true calling and concedes to Destiny. Tanghalang Pilipino brings back this rousingly funny musical based on the comic book by Carlo Vergara, recipient of the National Book Award citation from the Manila Critics Circle, due to insistent public demand! Laugh and fall in love (again) as the parlorista superhero(ine) saves the world!
