MMK episode that deals with the rape of a minor will finally air this Saturday

In the June 30 episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, Angel Aquino is cast as the mother of Jane Oineza's character who is raped.

ABS-CBN was finally given the go-signal by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to air the controversial Maalaala Mo Kaya episode that deals with the story of a teenage girl who was repeatedly raped, once even at the sight of her own mother. The episode will air this Saturday (June 30).

From the previously obtained X-rating, the "Cursed Beauty" episode was granted by the MTRCB with a rating of SPG or strong parental guidance. The SPG rating was given to the show after being thoroughly reviewed by the agency since its June 2 airing was postponed.

Former Goin’ Bulilit child star Jane Oineza portrays the 15-year-old girl named Nene who was recurrently raped by her stepfather. But her world drastically changed when her mother even assisted her live-in partner in the act of rape. Since then, Nene cursed the ‘beauty’ that she possesses. How can someone who lost her self-respect regain her love for herself?

Together with Jane in the MMK episode are Angel Aquino, Carlos Morales, RS Francisco, Vangie Labalan, Ana Abad Santos, Archie Alemania, Gerald Madrid, Jacko Benin, Kyline Alcantara, Liz Alindogan, Jesette Prospero, Minco Fabregas, and Elaine Quemuel. It was researched by Mae Rose Balanay, written by Benson Logronio, and directed by Nuel Naval.

Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) airs after Wansapanataym on ABS-CBN.

Ang mga storya ng MMK maselan man o hindi ay base sa mga totoong buhay na pinaghihirapan ng mga researchers, writers, crews, artists and staffs para ihandog sa mga intelehenteng manonood na bukas ang pag-iisip. Kaya nga mayroong babala na, "viewers discretion is advised" diba?

Hindi naman malaswa yun palabas eh,yun utak lang ng commenter dyan ang malaswa! Kaya nga dumaan sa matinding pagsusuri ng MTRCB bago sya nabigyan ng GO signal para maipalabas. The said episode is very sensitive,pero yun laswa ay hindi yun eh,kundi nakakaawa dahil base ito sa totoong kwento! Maaawa ka dun sa batang ginawan ng hindi maganda!

Grabe yung nanay dito. Dapat parusa sa kanya at sa life partner niya ay life imprisonment na araw-araw they get raped for the rest of their lives. Para maintindihan nila finally ang kahayupan na ginawa nila sa bata na dapat sila ang protectors.

anotther worldclass episode na naman from MMK. hinde katulad ng katapat na walang saysay.. ay matagal na palang tigok ang mga nakatapat ng MMK. hahha.. echoserang palaka gme fantards..

Very sensitive nga, pero reality talaga to na nangyayari hinde lang sa isang batang babae kundi sa marami pa. Kaya sana maging lesson ito para sa mga ina na nagbubulag bulagan lang at di matanggap na pwedeng mangyari ito sa kanilang mga anak.

LEWDNESS. Eto na naman ang ABS CBN sa kanilang topic na pambababoy sa kababaihan. Lagi na lang ganun ang karaniwang episode nila sa kanilang palabas na MMK. Pang ilang episode na ba itetch ng MMK na may ganitong tema. Paulit ULIT na lang, ganun at ganun din ang takbo ng istorya, iba iba lang ang pinalalabas na babaeng nilapastangan, pero paulit ulit na lang. Parang sa tingin ng ABS CBN MMK, ganun lang talaga ang ordinaryong nangyayari sa mga kababaihan ng bansa, on primetime pa. HINDI DAPAT pinapayagan ang ganyan kung gagamitan talaga ng professional ethics at common sense ang decision na pagpapalabas. Imoral!

Nangyayari man sa tunay na buhay o hindi, ang POINT naman dun ay yung SENSITIVENESS ng issue na ipapalabas ng ABS CBN sa PRIMEtime.

Dumaan man sa pagsusuri ng review board, hindi pa rin mapapasubalian na PUNOng puno ng immoralidad at LEWDNESS at INDECENCY ang palabas ng ABS CBN's MMK. Malinaw na malinaw pa sa sikat ng araw kung ano ang pinupunto ng palabas na HINDI NAANGKOP para sa mga walang sapat na gulang at pang unawa, lalo pa at nasa primetime scheduling ang palabas. Shame SHAME shame on ABS CBN!

ikaw na sige na..palitan mo na si grace poe llamanzares.kaya nga napostponed di ba? kasi ni review? kung ipapalabas man yan , wala ka ng magagawa dahil pumasa na sa MTRCB. o baka naman natatakot ang gma kasi for sure mataas na naman ang rating ng episode na to at lalamasuhin ang katpat na palabas..kasi gma come up with relevant shows, wag puro patweetums lang mga talenst nyo kaya ligwak sa acting

I dont usually agree with you. But this time I do. Weve seen this episode several times already on MMK. The only difference is the mother assisted. This is nothing original. Even Charo Santos was a victim in her movie Kisapmata with her characters mother played by Charito Solis was aware of the panghahalay of her own father but did not do anything about it. Wala na ba ibang characters na pwede. Hindi ba pwede meron namang architect banker engineer baker or other characters for a change.

Nagbabasa ka ba talaga ng lahat ng articles ng mga kapuso? Kasi nakapagtataka dahil hindi mo nababasa yung mga comments nya doon. Kung hindi mo na man nababasa yung mga comments nya doon don't worry kasi may counterpart naman siya doon...marami pa like monjoaquin na ngayon ay monjoaquin02, IAMBRAINFOOL, PIDRUHH, astroNUT at marami pang iba.

WALA SA LUGAR. Masyadong inappropriate naman ang move ng ABS CBN na ituloy ang pagpapalabas ng MAHALAY na episode na ito ng MMK on primetime. MAS marami pa naman ang ibang mas importanteng subject, pero pilit na tumututok ang ABS CBN at MMK sa mga OBSCENITY at INDECENCY! SHAME shame shame shame on you ABS CBN!

Why don't you tell MTRCB na wag ituloy ang pagpapalabas nyan? di ba sila ang magrereview nyan? So meaning, wala sa lugar ang MTRCB sa pagpapalabas kasi sila ang nagbigay ng GO SIGNAL sa ABS para ipalabas di ba? Or before you say something about Obscenity and indecency, why don't you watch it first and if you find something na feeling mo obscene and indecent, magrally ka sa MTRCB.. I've been reading your comments lately.. punung-puno ka ng negativity.. yan ba ang gusto mong trabaho? ang siraan ang ABS everyday? every hour? or every article na about Kapamilya? Are you really happy with what you're doing?

In my defence, I am not the one who is full of NEGAtivity. It is clear that ABS CBN is the one with negativity issues, as shown in its choice of subject matter for its tv programs, for instance, this sensitive subject of sexual assault on MMK.

Very sensitive yet important subject iyan...kasi maraming mga kababaihan ang nahihiyang magsumbong pag may ganyang nangyayari sa kanila kasi nga ayaw nilang magalit yung magulang nila...maybe this will give them the inspiration to come forward.
