In 2011, Erich Gonzales was chosen by ABS-CBN to portray Maria la del Barrio while Enchong Dee served as Luis Fernando Dela Vega.
Aside from these "Maria" projects, Thalia also starred in the telenovela Rosalinda. The Philippine remake of Rosalinda aired on GMA-7 in 2009.
