The special episode of Deal or No Deal–Around the World will be aired on May 5 instead of May 7, as previously announced by ABS-CBN.

Since its debut in the Netherlands in 2001, Endemol's Deal or No Deal is now seen in more than 50 nations globally. In the Philippines, Kapamilya Deal or No Deal premiered in 2006, with Kris Aquino hosting the game show.

Last April 24, American host Howie Mandel taped the special episode in the ABS-CBN compound with Kris Aquino. They were both given DVD copies of each other's episodes, allowing them to study each other's hosting style.

According to Endemol's executive producer Scott St. John, they liked the fact that the Philippine version has 26k Girls who have their own unique choreography. Scott also noticed the local version of "the banker." Scott said, "We love the way the banker gets to move around. I think that's really fun element. It's something that Howie and I changed in our episode in Canada. That maybe that's something we'll try to incorporate just to give the person more activity.

For this reason, Endemol chose the Philippines as one of the stops in its ongoing World Tour. Deal or No Deal–Around the World includes episodes shot in Estonia, South Africa, and the Philippines.
