Nag-isip muna nang husto si Ryan Agoncillo bago siya nagbigay ng reaksyon sa hindi magandang mga comments sa Pinoy Idol ng GMA-7. Matatandaan na si Ryan ang unang host ng unang local "Idol" show dito sa bansa via ABC-5's Philippine Idol.
"Ah, well, paano nga ba? Philippine Idol is my baby. I gave my best to that show. Kami nina Direk Rich Ilustre, ni Direk Mark Reyes, nina Mr. C [Ryan Cayabyab] who's in PDA [Pinoy Dream Academy] now.
"It's not right for us to comment on how people take Pinoy Idol now. Siguro the most I can say is that, uh...the same respect the people gave us when we were doing our version of Philippine Idol, I will give the creators of Pinoy Idol now. Siguro hindi tamang mag-comment ako. I'll keep my thoughts to myself. Pero may ano, may pagmamahal ako para sa show na yun," pahayag ni Ryan sa presscon ng bago niyang show sa ABS-CBN, Pinoy Fear Factor.
IT WAS NOT OFFERED. Inalok din ba siya noon na mag-host sa Pinoy Idol?
"No, it was never... I don't think it was ever an option. That's why I was the last one to find out that GMA is doing Pinoy Idol. Kasi alam ko yun...I don't know where we were. I think, if I'm not mistaken in one of our trips last year na pagbalik ko rito, ang nagsabi sa akin na hindi na hawak ng ABC-5 ang Pinoy Idol was Percy [Intalan, ABC-5 creative head].
"Then, he was the one who told me na definitely, well...we don't have the season 2. And then when I talked to Miss Annette Gozon-Abrogar [GMA-7's VP for Program Management] last year, it was really never in the table na ang Philippine Idol, their version, was gonna be for me. Never napag-usapan. That's why na-open up yung possibility of me hosting Pinoy Dream Academy."
Kung inalok ba sa kanya noon ang Pinoy Idol, tatatanggapin niya?
"Ah, ako, nung time na ‘yon? Of course, why not? Kasi kunyari Pinoy Idol was offered to me a long time ago? Ipagpapaalam ko kung puwede kong gawin dahil nga nasa GMA.
"Alam ni Tita Cory [Vidanes, ABS-CBN Head for TV Production] ‘yon."
FROM PHIL. IDOL TO PDA TO PINOY FEAR FACTOR. Ayon sa manager ni Ryan na si Noel Ferrer, nagsabi raw ang ABS-CBN executive na huwag tanggapin ni Ryan ang Idol franchise ng GMA-7 dahil magpi-PDA si Ryan.
Pero hindi nga napunta kay Ryan ang PDA. For some vague reason.
Pero nilinaw ni Ryan na hindi siya bitter nung hindi nga sa kanya napunta ang PDA.
"I was very vocal na hindi ako bitter. Hindi talaga para sa akin, e."
Pero sinabi ni Ryan na hindi siya sanay ng walang ginagawang TV show.
"Kasi itong six months nga na pinagdaanan ko na walang show, e, nakaka-praning yun, di ba? Kaso nga, sabi ko nga kay Noel during one of my recent trips sa Amerika, sabi ko, ‘Noel, kung hindi masaya ang buhay ko during the past six months, baka nabaliw ako.'"
