After being paired in the local counterpart of Korea's My Girl, Kim Chiu and Gerald
Anderson will once again be seen in ABS-CBN's upcoming Your Song offering for the month of October titled My Only Hope.
In a press conference announcing
Kim's launching as the first celebrity endorser of Bioclear food supplement
held at Annabel's in Tomas Morato, Quezon City last September 16, the chinita
actress described her role in the series as "Ms. Sunshine" while Gerald this time
ditches his boy-next-door image for a more rugged look.
Talking about Gerald's somewhat
offbeat role, Kim said, "Parang walang paki-alam sa mundo. Kahit mahaba na ‘yong
buhok niya, madumi na ‘yong mukha niya."
Keemo, Gerald's brooding
character, is the anti-thesis of April, Kim's cheerful and optimistic nature.
Perhaps as a testament
of the success of My Girl, ABS-CBN opted
to include the other cast members of the recently concluded local adaptation of
the popular Korean telenovela.
Leading the pack is
statuesque beauty Niña Jose who will portray Kris followed by Enchong Dee who
was given the role of Philip. The two will engage the main characters in a
two-way love triangle which is reminiscent in a way of their roles in My Girl.
Playing the character
of Cathy the Yoga Diva is Alex Gonzaga while David Chua will assume the role of
a mama's boy. Also included is Be Bench winners Regine Angeles and Carlo Guevara
along with cager cutie Xian Lim.
Kim feels extremely
blessed since My Only Hope will run
for one full season which is a first in Your
Song's history.
"Nagpapasalamat po
siyempre sa mga taong sumusuporta sa amin ni Gerald kasi nandyan pa rin sila
kahit anong mangyari, anong mga intriga, like anong role namin nandyan pa rin
sila. Tapos gustong-gusto pa din nila kami," beamed Kim in closing.
