Beauty queen Carlene Aguilar became the last contender to be eliminated before the finals of Celebrity Duets. The Top 3 contenders are (inset, top to bottom) Chairman Bayani Fernando, TV host-comedian Joey Marquez, and fashion designer JC Buendia.
Celebrity Duets started out with eight contenders, now they are down to three.
In the last elimination before the finals performance night, beauty queen and last woman standing Carlene Aguilar got the boot after getting the lowest number of text votes.
Carlene's elimination paved the way for an all-male finals night on Celebrity Duets between MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, fashion designer JC Buendia, and comedian-TV host Joey Marquez.
Before host Regine Velasquez—co-host and boyfriend Ogie Alcasid was absent—announced the Final 3, the remaining four contenders performed again with different partners.
Joey was the first to perform with comedian Pekto to the tune of "Sexbomb;" Chairman Fernando sang "Amor, Amor, Amor" with Pinky Marquez; Carlene did "Lady Marmalade" with Mocha; and JC gave a rendition of "With A Little Help From My Friends" with his pal Franco Laurel.
With the absence of resident judge Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Tessie Tomas took her place and joined Danny Tan and Freddie Garcia in assessing the performances. Tessie impersonated Tessa as "Tessa Prinirito."
Chairman Fernando, JC, and Joey will battle in the finals night to determine who among them will win the crown and P1-million cash prize.
