Wowowee host Willie Revillame as well as the whole production staff, crew and talents were overwhelmed with joy when they saw that the Big Dome was packed during the past Wowowee-lympics with the Star Magic artists. They were able to sell 13,000 tickets that amounted to approximately P800,000 which will be given to charity.
The basketball game started when Gerard Acao and Bentong faced off for a jump ball. The crowd went wild when Bentong was replaced by teammate, 6'9" ex-PBA player Bonel Balingit.
The volleyball and basketball games were fast paced and full of surprises as both teams were very competitive. Joining the Star Magic volleyball line-up were Kim Chiu, Nicole Uysiuseng, Nene Tamayo, Dionne Monsanto and Janna Dominguez. Their fellow volleyball player, Angelica Panganiban, delighted the crowd by dancing nonstop in the middle of the court.
The Wowowee team was composed of Valerie Concepcion, RR Enriquez and the ASF dancers.
For the basketball line-up, Diether Ocampo, Gerald Anderson, Zanjoe Marudo, Jason Abalos, Rayver and Rodjun Cruz and Matt Evans were strong contenders with the help of their coach, Star Magic ‘father' Mr. Johnny Manahan. Playing for the Wowowee basketball team were Cesar Montano, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Gab Valenciano and ex-PBA player Alvin Patrimonio, who went against son Angelo, a Star Magic talent.
Though the Star Magic team wasn't lucky enough to win in the basketball and volleyball games, the artists showcased their natural talent in sports. Jhong, Gab and Rayver impressed fans with their swift ball stealing moves while Gerald, Jon Hall and Wowowee host Willie were effortless 3-point shooters.
During half time, Wowowee co-host Pokwang gave an amusing impersonation as Aling Dionisia while the Gigger Boys elicited cheers from fans as they gave an upbeat dance number to the tune of the Boys Over Flowers theme songs titled "Almost Paradise" and "One More Time."
Wowowee co-host Mariel Rodriguez was torn between the two teams as she cheered for both her colleagues and her boyfriend Zanjoe. The artists gamely strutted their stuff and bounced to the music of DJ Cokie.
Also in attendance to support the Kapamilya artists were Bea Alonzo, Meryl Soriano, Joem Bascon, Thou Reyes and ABS-CBN executive Linggit Tan. Senator Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez also graced the event.
The Wowowee-lympics brought cheer to Filipinos and was also able to give back to those in need. Continue to be part of the noontime show, Wowowee, every afternoon on ABS-CBN.
