The first legendary story offered by Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla presents Tiagong Akyat, has climbed its way up the ratings ladder. On its pilot episode last August 15, this ABS-CBN show achieved a rating of 27.6% in the nationwide Taylor Nelson Sofres survey results.
Gerald Anderson, the lead star of the TV series, who is currently out of the country for commitments abroad, is extremely happy over the good news.
"Sobrang unexplainable yung feeling. Lalong nakaka-encourage yung positive feedback ng mga tao. I'm really thankful. The hard work is indeed paying off," said Gerald in a text message he sent to one of the staff members of Agimat.
Director Dondon Santos is also overjoyed with the affirmative response of the viewers. "Nakakatuwa at nakakataba ng puso. Basehan rin kasi namin ang response ng publiko. Napagtanto ko na kaya na ng manonood ng tumanggap ng ibang klaseng genre pagdating sa telebisyon at hindi lamang mga drama series at mga variety shows. Open na rin sila sa mga ganitong klaseng kuwento."
In the last episode, Tiago (Gerald) was imprisoned for a crime that he did not commit. As the story continues, he tries to escape prison but to no avail.
While in jail, Tiago meets Nardo (Danilo Barrios), Pablo (Joseph Bitangcol) and Big Max (Ryan Eigenmann) who will later become his friends even outside prison.
The lead character also meets Castro Mananquil, the legendary man who's known to have an amulet called Pangil ng Kidlat. With his amulet, Castro can withstand pain and suffering. He does not get hurt even if he's shot or stabbed.
During one of their fights with an inmate, Castro gives Tiago the amulet and tells him that it is about time he passes it on to someone who has good intentions and would not abuse its powers.
Upon receiving the amulet, the adventures of Tiago truly begin.
