Beginning this Monday, January 4, the makers of Jewel in the Palace present Queen Seondeok, a period TV series that will not only captivate hearts but will also introduce audiences of the prime time block to one of the greatest women in Korean history.

Starring Lee Yo-won as Queen Seon Deok, she lived the first fifteen years of her life not knowing her real identity. As an elder twin of her sister Chonmyong and therefore heiress to the throne of Silla, she was almost assasinated as a baby because the beautiful seductress Mi-Shil wanted to be queen.

After years of living as a commoner, Seon Deok is back, ready to face her twin, parents and most of all, Mi-shil who has grown more powerful and no less cruel throughout the years.
