Their love story has been dubbed as a union that changed a nation. To commemorate the January 25 birthday of the late Corazon Aquino, ABS-CBN presents the love story of Ninoy Aquino and Cory Aquino through a two-part episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Piolo Pascual will play the political leader Ninoy Aquino while Bea Alonzo will bring life to former President Cory Aquino.

In a previous interview with Showbiz News Ngayon, Piolo admitted that he feels excited and nervous about portraying the former Senator.

"You don't pass up a chance like this...milestone ito. Hindi lang sa career ko kundi sa showbiz kasi ngayon lang ipapalabas sa showbiz ang love story ng two icons of this generation."

Bea pointed out: "Sobra kang ma-in love ka dun sa story nila. It's all abuot sacrifices, it's all about real love. Iwi-wish mo sana makahanap ka rin ng ganung klaseng pagmamahal."


In an interview with PEP, Kris Aquino, the youngest child of Ninoy and Cory, revealed that her eldest sister Ballsy was one who voiced over the spiels to be used in the drama anthology show. The female TV host appreciated the fact that the writers spent a lot of time researching about their parents. They even went to the Aquino Center in Tarlac to complete their research. In the MMK episode, Pinky will be portrayed by Yayo Aguila, Kris by Jodi Santamaria, Noynoy by teen star Sam Concepcion and Ballsy by comebacking actress Liezl Martinez.
