Ito po 'yong first time na mapapanood sa TV ang ganitong klaseng fight scenes," says Gerald Anderson about his stunts in Buhawi Jack. He will be paired with ABS-CBN's newest star Jewel Mische.

Gerald Anderson is preparing for another action-packed role in ABS-CBN's upcoming adventure series titled Wansapanataym's Buhawi Jack.

After learning parkour or free running for his character in Tiagong Akyat, the 21-year-old actor underwent training for the Filipino martial arts called Arnis.

The former Tayong Dalawa actor said he's proud of the new series because it will showcase local martial arts.

Nakaka-proud din," he said during the press conference for Buhawi Jack.

Gerald said he is having fun learning Arnis and doesn't mind the bruises he gets during training.

He said, "Sobrang nag-e-enjoy po kami dito sa Buhawi dahil grabe ang mga stunts na ginagawa. Lahat kami po nag-training para sa Arnis.

"Kagabi nag-shoot kami.

Gerald also said that prior to their taping day, the group had already practiced the stunts that will be used in the scenes.

Buhawi Jack was originally written as a serial comics by Rod Santiago. It was adapted for the big screen in 1998 with actor-martial arts artist Monsour del Rosario playing the lead role, Jack Isidro. The original film also starred Ara Mina, Carmina Villaroel and Niño Muhlach.

In the TV series, Gerald will be paired with the newest Kapamilya star Jewel Mische, who plays the role of Vera. Rap Fernandez, son of late action star Rudy Fernandez and Lorna Tolentino, will portray Rex Vergara, the villain in the show.

Also included in the cast are Phillip Salvador (as Jaime Isidro), Joel Torre (as Manuel Miranda), Mark Gil (as Roger Vergara), and Tetchie Agbayani (as Mildred Vergara).

From the creator of Agua Bendita, Nato de Coco and Bandanang Itim, Rod Santiago's Buhawi Jack is an action-adventure series that paints the country's historical backdrops of people, places and things. The story revolves around the adventures of Jack, Vera, Rex and their quest to solve puzzles from the past that will greatly affect the future.

Buhawi Jack will have its pilot episode on Saturday, January 22, after TV Patrol Sabado.
