American Idol finalist Thia Megia has a chance to enter the Top 10 if she performs well on Motown night this week.

PRESS STATEMENT FROM GMA NEWS TV CHANNEL 11:

"Fil-Am Thia Megia remains in the running for a spot at the Top 10 of this season's American Idol, which airs locally on GMA News TV Channel 11.

"On performance night this Thursday, 6 pm, the Top 11--Megia, Pia Toscano, Casey Abrams, Naima Adedapo, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald and Haley Reinhart--take on classic Motown tunes.

"Then on results night this Friday, 6pm, IDOL season 3 finalist and Oscar best supporting actress winner Jennifer Hudson performs. Multi-platinum-selling country music duo Sugarland are also featured guests.

"Last week, the finalists were asked to sing a song from the year they were born. Megia, who was born in 1995, sang Vanessa Williams' 'Colors of the Wind.' While the judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler were not that excited with the performance, viewers seemed to remain strongly behind the soft-spoken 16-year-old from California. Last week's results night showed her to be clearly out of danger of getting eliminated. Karen Rodriguez, the 21-year-old from New York, New York who sang 'Hero,' got the lowest number of votes and was sent home.

"Can Megia deliver a knockout performance on Motown night? Who will receive enough votes to get a spot in this season's Top 10?

"More dynamite performances as the American Idol finalists soar to greater heights. Catch the performance night this Thursday, 6 pm (with same day replay at 10 pm) and the results night this Friday, 6 pm (with same day replay at 10 pm) only on GMA News TV Channel 11."
