Amazing Love Story features colorful marriage of Bong Revilla and Lani Mercado

Twenty-five years after they first wed, Congresswoman Lani Mercado and Senator Bong Revilla renewed their marriage vows on May 28, 2011. The star-studded ceremony and reception will be aired as a TV special this Sunday, June 5.

"On the first Sunday of June, GMA-7 airs the decade's most anticipated renewal of vows in Amazing Love Story. It is a TV special on Sen. Bong Revilla and Cong. Lani Mercado's 25th wedding anniversary celebration held last Saturday, May 28.

"For 25 years, Bong and Lani shared a journey beyond the four corners of their home. They fell in love and married at a very young age, yet their youth did not keep them from having a fulfilled married life and raising beautiful kids. From their showbiz careers to their political endeavors, they stood by each other through controversies and trials.

"The 2-hour TV special recounts the couple's love story dating back to their wedding in Glendale, California in 1986. It also tells of their Centennial Wedding in Imus, Cavite thirteen years ago.

"Further, GMA-7 captured Bong and Lani's recent trip to California to revisit the Forest Lawn Church, the sacred place where they first tied the knot 25 years ago.

"For the most part, Amazing Love Story details the exquisite romantic event that transpired last May 28--the preparations, the entourage comprised of the country's leaders and showbiz icons, the guests, the surprise of Ogie and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, the ceremony in the Shrine of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, and the reception in Sofitel Philippine Plaza.

"Discover a love that transcends time and hardships by being witness to Bong and Lani's love story, 25 years in the making. See the couple as they simply are and be inspired by the depth of their bond and the nobility of their commitment to each other.

"Amazing Love Story airs this Sunday (June 5) after Pepito Manaloto on GMA-7."
