ABS-CBN actress Anne Curtis will get her own star at the Walk of Fame Philippines located in Eastwood City.
German "Kuya Germs" Moreno revealed this during the October 18 episode of ABS-CBN's talent search Showtime.
Kuya Germs was a special guest who took part in the magic number of Billy Crawford. The former child star of That's Entertainment performed a magic trick involving a huge box that he pierced using a sword. He then covered it with cloth and when the box was opened, a female assistant was revealed.
The woman helped Billy cover the whole area with a cloth and as they turned around, Billy and the woman suddenly disappeared and out came the Master Showman. The crowd cheered as Kuya Germs shouted, "Walang tulugan!"
Kuya Germs recalled that Billy was four years old when he met the young kid who really wanted to be part of That's Entertainment.
"Pinagmamalaki kita. I'm proud of you," said Kuya Germs to the performer who used to be known as Billy Joe Crawford. "Noong araw ganun ka lang [indicating a height abnout knee-high], ngayon mas mataas ka pa sa akin. At hindi lang yan, mas mataas pa ang kita mo sa akin. It's about time na balatuan mo ako."
Billy addressed Kuya Germs as "Pa" and told him that he was always welcome on the show.
Before Showtime ended, Kuya Germs asked for some time to make his revelation.
"I would like to make a special announcement. On December 1st, the name of Anne Curtis will be added to the Walk of Fame," said the veteran TV host.
The other co-hosts of Showtime cheered for the actress who gushed, "Yes, yes, for sure! I will be there! Maraming salamat!"
Select celebrities are given their own stars that are embedded on the sidewalk as a way of recognizing their contribution to the entertainment industry.
Inspired by the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Walk of Fame Philippines was spearheaded by Kuya Germs in December 2005. Icons who have their own stars at the Walk of Fame Philippines include Dolphy, Fernando Poe Jr., Eddie Garcia, Sharon Cuneta, Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor among others.
