Sam is supposed to be part of ABS-CBN's upcoming teleserye titled Alta, which will topbill Gretchen Barretto, among others.
In fact, Sam narrated that in preparation for the show, he underwent training in a military camp along with Zanjoe Marudo and Luis Manzano. This training also taught the actor how to assemble and disassemble the parts of an M16 rifle.
Another project that Sam gave up is his movie with Bea Alonzo that was supposed to be directed by Olive Lamasan.
Sam and his manager, Erickson Raymundo, have reportedly chosen the agency that will manage Sam's international career. According to Reggee Bonoan of Balita, the said company manages the careers of Hollywood stars such as Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, among others. She also wrote that Sam is expected to go to New York by February 2012 to attend workshops for the American TV series.
