American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta will soon be seen as a leading man on Philippine television.

The American singer-songwriter has agreed to star opposite Jasmine Curtis Smith and Eula Caballero for a primetime series to be aired on TV5.



Last Sunday, January 8, Eula and Jasmine appeared as guests on the talk show Paparazzi: Showbiz Exposed to talk about their upcoming program.

Jasmine told viewers, "We're honored po na makapares si David sa isang show kasi for us, it's an impossible thought or dream." The younger sister of Anne Curtis previously starred in the TV adaptation of popular '90s film Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum wherein she reprised the role of Vina Morales.

Eula emerged as the winner of TV5's talent search, Star Factor, which aired during the last quarter of 2010. She was recently cast in the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Yesterday Today Tomorrow.

Paparazzi host Ruffa Gutierrez read out the official statement of TV5 that revealed: "American Idol star David Archuleta is scheduled to arrive in Manila on January 13 to do a primetime series for TV5 with homegrown Kapatid stars Jasmin Curtis Smith and Eula Caballero."
