Ikinairita ng Megastar na si Sharon Cuneta ang balitang lumabas sa column ni Dolly Anne Carvajal sa Philippine Daily Inquirer noong January 31 na "weeks" ang itinagal ng pagbabakasyon sa Hong Kong ng kanyang anak na si KC Concepcion at ng rumored suitor nito—ang TV director na si Lino Cayetano.

Nilinaw ni Sharon ang isyu sa interview sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at S-Files dahil kasama siya ni KC sa nabanggit na Hong Kong trip.

Nakatanggap din si Dolly Anne ng text message mula kay Lino. Obviously, naalarma rin si Lino sa column item ni Dolly kaya sinabi niya ang kanyang panig.

Ito ang kumpletong text message ni Lino kay Dolly Anne:

"Hi Miss Dolly Anne, I'm forwarding this message thru Ate and Marty. Just wanted to clear up lang po some things re your article.

"KC and her entire family went to Hong Kong before she flew to Paris. On the last day there, I surprised her and I spent half a day with KC and her friends from Hong Kong Disneyland then she left na din for Paris.

"We didn't spend a week there and we didn't do anything behind her family's backs. We are genuinely in the process of starting a relationship and is building the proper foundation.

"I hope po this clears things up as you know I am not in the habit of reacting to the press but thru your widely read column, I am praying that some of these issues may be cleared as it is very important to me that the people I care about know."

Bago ang text message na ito ni Lino kay Dolly Anne, walang ginawang direktang pag-amin o pagtanggi ang TV director at si KC, maging ang ina ng dalaga na si Sharon Cuneta.

Nagsimulang ma-link sa isa't isa sina KC at Lino nang inilabas ng PEP ang balitang nakita silang magkasama sa Tagaytay noong Christmas season last year at sa Boracay naman a few days later.
