"Okay lang," says Dina Bonnevie about her son, Oyo Sotto, coping after his break-up with girlfriend Angel Locsin. Oyo and Angel have kept mum about the reason of their split.
"Actually, nag-worry ako noon nung nag-break sila ni Angel. Kasi parang kahit na itinatago ni Oyo ‘yong lungkot niya, siyempre bilang ina, di ba, nakikita mo na... alam mo na malungkot ang anak mo? Itinatago lang niya ‘yong lungkot niya. Kami naman ni Danica, parang takot kaming mag-mention," narrates Dina.
"Noong one time, hindi na ako makatiis. Sabi ko, ‘Oyo, okay ka lang ba?' ‘Okay lang. Okay na okay nga ako ngayon, e. Ganoon lang talaga 'yon,' sabi niya. ‘Mas maganda nga ngayon, e, wala akong girlfriend. Wala akong nililigawan. Concentrated ako sa trabaho. Talagang gusto ko ngayon maging bising-busy para makalimot.'
"Kasi it came also as a surprise, although si Oyo ‘yong nakipag-break sa kaniya [Angel] nga. Sabi niya, ‘Hindi rin ganoon kasakit kasi ako ‘yong nakipag-break.' Pero siyempre may dahilan ‘yon. Tinatanong namin, ‘Bakit ka ba nakipag-break?' ‘Sa amin na lang ‘yon, Ma. Ngayon siguro, hindi ako masyado nasaktan kasi ako ang humingi ng break-up.'"
Third party? Dina asserts that she doesn't know the reason why the two separated. Angel and Oyo officially announced their break-up last Christmas.
"Noong unang nag-break-up, wala! Ayaw niyang [Oyo] magsalita. Talagang ubod siya ng kasungitan!" she says candidly.
The Walang Kapalit star narrates, "Siyempre hindi rin namin ine-expect kasi it was magnu-new year. Parang irony of all ironies pa, it was Angel who told us na mag-reserve sa Cebu. Siya ang nagpa-book! Tapos biglang hindi siya sumipot!
"Nagtaka kami kung ano'ng nangyari. I think that was one of the reasons kaya sila nag-break, pero may iba pang reason. But at that time, hindi siya nagsasalita.
"Kami ni Danica ‘yong nasasaktan kasi nakikita namin na tahimik lang siya, tapos siyempre, ang daming pinalalabas noong kabilang channel na parang si Oyo ‘yong walang hiya. Alam naman naming it's definitely not him. Sino bang ka-trabaho noong girl [Angel] na ‘yon? Baka ‘yon [ang rason], di ba?" says Dina, obviously referring to Robin Padilla who is Angel's leading man in Asian Treasures.
Dina stresses, "Basta sabi ni Oyo, ‘Matuwa ka na lang Mommy na dapat lang na mag-break kami. Okay na 'yon. Okay lang ako.'"
Reconciliation? Dina says she doesn't think that her son and Angel would get back together.
She explains, "Kasi noong kasal ni Danica, 'andoon naman si Angel. Parang she was very sweet. Sinusubuan pati niya si Oyo. Pero 'andoon din si Anne [Curtis], 'andoon din si Alessandra [de Rossi]. So parang lahat ng ex niya 'andoon! Tumabi pa sa akin si Angel na, ‘Kamusta po kayo?' Pinadalhan pa niya ako ng flowers noong Valentine's. But I wasn't here. I was in Switzerland.
"Sabi ko kay Oyo, ‘Ano, balikan na ba kayo ni Angel? Mukhang okay kayo noong wedding.' ‘Hindi, Ma. Okay na 'yong ganito. Okay na ako ng ganito. Buti na 'yong ganito na lang. Friends na lang kami. Tutal bising-busy naman siya, e. Hayaan mo muna siyang ma-busy. Siguro 'pag hindi na siya busy, tingnan natin ang panahon. Kung talagang kami naman, kami pa rin. Pero siguro sa ngayon, hangga't hindi pa tapos ‘yang soap [Asian Treasures] na 'yan, pabayaan ko muna siya.'"
Dina also denies that Oyo is seeing anyone, especially Kristine Hermosa.
"'Yong kay Kristine Hermosa kasi, di ba, nagkasama sila sa Enteng Kabisote? Mula noong nagkasama sila sa Enteng, they became very close. Alam naman ni Oyo na may asawa na si Kristine, which is Diether Ocampo. Hindi naman nanghihimasok si Oyo sa buhay ng may asawa," she ended.
