Magta-tatlong taon na this October ang anak ni Valerie Concepcion na si Heather Fiona, na binubuhay mag-isa ng young actress. Walang sustento, at ni walang komunikasyong natatanggap si Valerie, mula sa non-showbiz guy na ama ng kanyang anak.
Kung bigla raw sumulpot ang lalaki upang makipag-usap sa kanya at kumustahin ang bata, open daw siya rito. Pero ibang usapan na raw kapag nagtangka ang lalaki na kunin mula sa pangangalaga ni Valerie si Heather Fiona.
Ayon kay Valerie, nakahanda siyang ipaglaban ang kanyang anak hanggang saan man umabot, kung sakaling may magtangkang kunin ito mula sa kanyang poder.
Kung dumating ang punto na kausapin siya ng lalaki at alukin ng kasal, either dahil mahal siya nito or para magkaroon rin ito ng karapatan sa bata, hinding-hindi na raw papayag si Valerie.
Mas may posibilidad na pumayag siya kung sakaling visitation rights lamang ang hilingin ng lalaki, or kung hiramin nito ang anak nila paminsan-minsan. Pero wala pa rin itong kasiguraduhan dahil malabong pumayag ang kanyang mga magulang na ipahiram or ipakita man lang ang bata sa ama nito.
On a different note, magkapatid sina Valerie at Angel Locsin sa bakuran ng talents ni Becky Aguila. Kung nanahimik for a while dati ang career ni Valerie dahil nga sa pagbubuntis niya, umalagwa naman nang husto ang popularidad ni Angel. Si Angel ay isa na sa mga pinakasikat na young stars sa local show business ngayon.
Hindi naman nagpapaka-ipokrita si Valerie. Nasabi niyang there were times na hinangad din niya ang estadong narating ni Angel. Naisip din raw niya na kung hindi siya nabuntis ay baka naabot din niya ang tinamasang success ngayon ni Angel. Pero naisip niya na maaari ring hindi talaga nakatadhana na maging kapareho niya ang kapalaran si Angel, nabuntis man siya o hindi.
Very sincere na sinabi ni Valerie na Heather Fiona is worth all the good things in showbiz that she failed to get because she became a mother.
Samantala, abut-abot ang pasasalamat ni Valerie dahil sa pagkakakabigay sa kanya ng GMA-7 ng biggest break niya so far, ang papel niya bilang Nora sa Sinasamba Kita. Ang naturang role ay ginampanan ni Lorna Tolentino sa movie version nito.
Kasama ni Valerie sa Sinasamba Kita sina Sheryl Cruz bilang Divina, Wendell Ramos bilang Jerry, at Carlo Aquino bilang Oscar. Ito ay sa ilalim ng direksiyon ni Joel Lamangan.
