Last week, Kris Aquino announced that she cannot have another baby again.
"Sobrang dangerous kasi I'm prone to gestational diabetes while I'm pregnant... Nagsu-shoot-up ‘yong blood pressure ko 'pag nanganganak. Then lahat na ng komplikasyon nangyari sa akin. Sabi nila, kung nangyari ‘yon ng isang beses, you can count on it happening again," explained Kris Aquino in an interview with The Buzz.
The mother of two—Joshua, fathered by Phillip Salvador, and baby James, fathered by James Yap—stressed, "To be on the safe side, sabi ko okay naman na kasi dalawa na sila. Tama na."
BABY JAMES. On May 19, baby James was welcomed to the Christian world by his family and his parents' friends. The baptismal rites were officiated at the Don Bosco Church in Makati.
One-month-old James Aquino-Yap has five pairs of godparents—four men, four women, and two gays—from the corporate world, showbiz, and sports: Boy Abunda, Deo Endrinal, Noynoy Aquino (stand-in for Manny Pangilinan), Jun Limpot, Lucy Torres-Gomez, Rina Teopaco, Anne Curtis (proxy for Claudine Barretto), Ballsy Cruz (substitute for Cory Vidanes), Mark Cuito, and Dondon Monteverde.
Kris revealed, "Parang it's really our intention na 'pag tinanong talaga ‘yong feeling namin sa mga ninong... Kung mayroon mang mangyari sa amin [ni James], alam namin na maipagkakatiwala namin si baby James na aalagaan at mamahalin talaga ng mga ninong at ninang."
It was a month ago when Kris gave birth to their firstborn. Baby James was a little over four pounds then and had to be placed in an incubator. Now, he is slowly gaining weight and is as healthy as expected.
"The breastfeeding has totally totally helped him. Lumobo na ‘yong cheeks niya and all. And more than 2 lbs. na na-gain niya. Sana on track kami na 3 lbs. every month ang nage-gain. They said na magugulat na lang daw ako after the third month," Kris said excitedly.
Kris also revealed that James has become a hands-on-dad.
She said, "Ang napapansin ko sa kaniya [James] talaga is that he's really trying to be hands-on. Kasi noong una, takot siya na magbuhat. Ngayon, binubuhat na niya [si baby James]. Tapos kanina kasi napansin namin 'yong mukha para kasing there's a rash. Baby James is scratching tapos siya [James] ‘yong nagtatanong sa akin kung anong gagawin. Sabi ko, ‘Relax. Sabi nung pedia, di naman namumula 'yong eye. Wala namang infection.' And James really also makes it a point na may bonding time sila."
