Newly elected Caloocan City councilor and actress Marjorie Barretto lashed out at some members of the press for allegedly coming up with fabricated stories to spice up her "trial separation" from husband Dennis Padilla.
Marjorie, in a taped interview aired by Startalk last Saturday, admitted to being irked by stories and speculations of "know-it-all" journalists.
"Parang mas alam nyo pa kung anong tunay na nangyayari sa amin ni Dennis, ah. Saan nyo nakukuha ‘yong mga stories nyo?" she said sarcastically during the interview.
She said that she and Dennis have decided to stop talking about what she calls their "trial separation."
"I'm a public figure but I'm not public property," Marjorie declared. She also said that she personally asked her estranged husband to stop giving interviews and cease from blaming himself as the reason for the fallout.
"Sorry for the words, pero kung ano man ‘yong nangyayari sa amin ni Dennis ngayon, wala na kayong pakialam doon," said Marjorie.
In an interview with Ricky Lo in his program The Ricky Lo Exclusives on QTV 11, Dennis once again took the blame for the separation and said that he wasn't the same person that captured Marjorie's heart a couple of years back.
"Naging masyado akong seryoso sa mga bagay," said Dennis. Marjorie also told him bluntly that she wants the old Dennis Padilla back.
Dennis is reportedly courting Marjorie again, promising to change for the better.
"Sabi ko nga, tama na ‘yong pagpapadala niya ng flowers!" laughed Marjorie, adding that the comedian has already made his point.
Marjorie confessed to enjoying her newfound freedom and independence.
"Right now I'm enjoying doing things on my own. Last night I watched a movie alone and it feels good," she said.
Showbiz Central reported yesterday, June 3, that Dennis is thinking about studying directing and video editing, and that despite their situation, the estranged couple will still push through with their plans for family vacations inside and outside the country.
