"Ako mismo ang tumawag at nag email sa kanila telling them I want to be part of Greenpeace and asking what can I do to help. I'm passionate about this," says Richard Gutierrez about his involvement in Greenpeace. In this photo, the actor takes a drive on the Electric Jeepney (E-Jeepney), the first public transport system of its kind in Southeast Asia.

Founded in 1971 sa Canada initially against whaling, lumawak ang nasabing environmental organization in scope and causes. Now with 42 international offices and affiliates worldwide, it addresses several environmental causes from global warming to genetic engineering.
"I got this from my Dad [Eddie Gutierrez]," paliwanag ni Richard during the launch of Simple Lang campaign of Greenpeace last Saturday, July 7, sa Visayas Avenue kung saan siya mismo ang nagpatawag at nag-invite.
"Ako mismo ang tumawag at nag-email sa kanila telling them I want to be part of Greenpeace and asking what can I do to help. I'm passionate about this," sabi ni Richard.
Already he has graced the launch of the first electric jeepney sa Makati. Second na itong Simple Lang campaign.
"As an artist, I know I can bring a different crowd to be aware of this," sabi ng star ng Lupin.
For the Simple Lang campaign, maagang dumating sina Cesar Montano, Iza Calzado, at ang kambal ni Richard na si Raymond Gutierrez.
Aware din si Richard na may pagka-militant ang Greenpeace in some parts of the world.
"Activists pero hindi violent," sabi niya. "Greenpeace pushes strongly for the causes it fights for pero in a non-violent means."
