KC Concepcion would rather keep her personal life private. When asked if she would be willing to be directed by rumored boyfriend Lino Cayetano in the future, KC smilingly replied: "I'm open to working with admirable directors." Photo: Courtesy of ABS-CBN

Without saying much and with only a blithe smile on her face, KC Concepcion somehow managed to reveal the real status of her lovelife.

"Opo, I'm happy," she simply said when asked if there is someone who is currently making her heart sing.

KC made the revelation last night, September 10, during the press conference of her upcoming ABS-CBN TV special titled KC From Paris to Pinas, which will be shown on September 23 at 10:30 p.m.

Later on, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) along with some members of the press cornered the pretty daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and former actor Gabby Concepcion, to ask about her reported relationship with young director Lino Cayetano.

"Magaling siyang director," she playfully replied, refusing to answer directly if they are indeed an item.

Although KC gamely accommodated all of the questions tossed at her—from "Papa" Gabby to her life as a student in Paris—she remained relatively elusive in divulging anything about Lino and the status of their so-called special friendship.

"That's very personal. Very private and personal matter and it's not something that I think should be talked about so much," she said politely.

But will she attend the premiere night of director Lino's film debut, I've Fallen For You, once it's ready to be shown to the public?

"Manonood ho ako ng movie niya for sure sa theaters. Pero 'yong premiere night, parang hindi ko alam. Siguro on a normal day na lang."

NATURALLY FRIENDLY. If KC was apprehensive to reveal anything about her suspected boyfriend, she was very vocal when it comes to the other men linked to her in the past.

First was Billy Crawford.

KC candidly admitted that Billy courted her when she was still staying in Paris. According to KC, Billy has some friends there and she even met some of them. She stressed though that the Filipino-American international singer was merely a friend—at least to her.

"Yong reaction ko about Billy, wala...Hindi ko alam kung bakit nili-link at may laman [issue]," she said.

There was also no kissing that transpired between them, which was Billy's insinuation when he guested on DJ Mo's controversial radio program a few months back. It will be recalled that when Billy was asked, "who's the better kisser?" between Mandy Moore and KC Concepcion, he replied: "KC Concepcion because with Mandy, I was very young. Tita Sharon, don’t kill me!"

"Kilala ko siya ever since bata ako. I really had no relationship with Billy," explained KC, who was obviously not pleased with what Billy had said.

Meanwhile, the case of former Rivermaya frontman Rico Blanco was much different compared to Billy. For a time, many believed that there was really something special going on between KC and the popular singer-songwriter. There were even rumors during the time that Sharon doesn't approve of the relationship, thus, encouraging KC to pursue her studies in Paris. Rivermaya's haunting ballad, "Balisong," was said to be inspired by KC.

"Naging close po kami," confessed the highly-in-demand product endorser on her supposed involvement with Rico. Then added, "What that means, that's very private, very personal. Pero opo, naging close kami. Naging best friends po kami talaga, pero ngayon hindi ko alam kung nasa bansa siya ngayon or what. But ang rinig ko po is umalis siya ng Rivermaya."

Being naturally friendly, KC thinks that her closeness, particularly with guys, is very susceptible to intrigues and false impression.

"Marami po ang nakaka-misinterpret sa certain relationships ko. Kaya po siguro ako nali-link kasi lahat sobrang kinu-kuya ko. And 'yon nga po ang payo sa akin ng isa kong kaibigan noon na 'Huwag ka naman masyadong maging close sa mga guys kasi laging nami-misinterpret ng tao.' Iniisip nila may something na when, really, it's just friendship," she explained.
