A new battle of game shows will begin next week.
FremantleMedia, producer of American Idol, now owns the rights of Whammy! The said game show is the reincarnation of the short-lived game show noon sa U.S. na Second Chance. Later, it was revived with a different title, Press Your Luck. Dahil naging memorable ang cartoon character na si Whammy na part of the game, mas nakilala at naiba na naman ang pangalan nito as Whammy, Press Your Luck.
Several countries like the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Australia, Germany, and Turkey bought the rights to air a local version and now, GMA-7 naman ang nakabili ng rights nito sa Pilipinas.
Among the first group of players of the show na may tatlong contestants per game are Mark Herras, Rainier Castillo, and Rhian Ramos.
Bukod pa rito ang special participation niya as the voice of Fifi sa Marimar.
Ito naman ang ikalawang game show ni Paolo, na host din ng Sunday game show na Tok! Tok! Tok! Isang Milyon Pasok.
Tulad ng Celebrity Duets, na ang FremantleMedia rin ang producer, malamang na hindi rin ito mapalabas sa GMA Pinoy TV dahil sa usual stipulation ng mga franchises that local versions of the program can only be shown in the country that bought the rights.
