Kris Aquino took the advice of Boy Abunda never to borrow money for her family's house. Much of her excitement about moving into the new home is that around 40% came from her endorsements, which Boy got for her. Hubby James's renewed contract also came at the right time.

Ipinalabas sa unang pagkakataon ang bagong TV commercial ni Kris Aquino for Pantene sa The Buzz kahapon, October 14. Ito ang pang-apat na TV commercial ni Kris na kasalukuyang ipinapakita sa TV, pagkatapos ilabas last Friday, October 12, for the first time ng bago niyang commercial para sa McDonald's.
Ilan sa mga major endorsements ni Kris ay may kinalaman ang kaibigan at co-host niya sa Boy & Kris na si Boy Abunda.
"Boy is good to me talaga. Kahit iniintriga kami, you know, I never felt it. Honestly, hindi talaga... Siguro parang hindi lang makapaniwala ang mga tao na puwedeng ganun ka-smooth ang relationship, pero smooth talaga.
"Hindi ko rin alam kung pang-ilang endorsement ko na ito. Mula nang mag-Boy & Kris, apat na endorsements ang nasara ni Boy, e. For me lang... We're so blessed. Nagmamahalan kaming dalawa," paglalahad ni Kris.
Dahil dito, hindi kaya mag-react ang ibang talents ni Boy sa kanyang talent agency, ang Backroom, Inc.?
Ayon kay Kris, "Alam mo yun ang ano...he doesn't want me talking about it kasi raw baka magtampo yung other talents niya. Pero ang totoo, I'm so happy to be able to share it kasi we're moving to our new house. Tapos ‘eto yung finishing stage na ubusan talaga ng pera.
"Alam mo, sinabi ni Boy, ‘Until you really moved in, wala akong kukunin sa ‘yo from anything I've closed para sabihin mo na lang sa inaanak ko, kay Baby James, na ano, itong mga pader na 'to, ibinigay ni Ninong Boy.'
"Na-feel ko na super sweet niya talaga. Yung parang sinabi ko na kung anuman yung bahay ko, siguro parang forty percent of that house talaga nanggaling sa hirap ni Boy na makahanap sa akin ng endorsements.
"Kasi si Boy ang nagsabi sa akin na huwag kang umutang. Ayaw niya talaga kasi that's his ano... Parang sinabi niya na in our line of work, walang kasiguraduhan. So, sabi niya, dapat walang utang as far as our house is concerned. So, sinabi niya na ‘Gagawan ko ng paraan, huwag kang mag-alala.' Not a single cent umutang kami sa bank.
Dagdag pa ni Kris, "Timing din kasi na nag-renew si James [Yap, her husband] ng kontrata. E, kasi sa kanila, iba yung way. They get parang thirty-five percent of their contract when they renew. So, everything came at the time when we needed it, so, thank you."
NEW HOME. Lilipat na raw sila sa bago nilang bahay next month at meron na silang exact date ng paglipat. Natupad din sa bagong bahay ni Kris na ang magde-design ay walang iba kundi si Ramon Antonio. Matagal na raw niyang pangarap na ang sikat na home builder ang mag-design ng kanyang bahay.
"Kasi all my cooking portions for Boy & Kris will be done in my kitchen. ‘Yon yung come-on. Ang pinakamagandang area ng bahay namin is yung kitchen talaga kasi dalawa. Kasi yung isa, show kitchen. Di ba, super hilig akong mag-cook? So, yung kitchen is open, leading to the dining room. Ay, I'm so proud!" very excited na sabi ni Kris.
What about the other kitchen?
"Katabi nun, pero same. Basta I love my kitchen."
Obviously, ang kitchen niya ang pinakamahal na part ng bago niyang bahay.
"Oo, ano siya... Kasi when we were deciding on our kitchen, sinabi sa amin na ‘yon daw yung kitchen ni Pope Benedict. Basta sinabi ko talaga na excited ako sa kusina ko.
"I went to ano... Two or three weeks ago, I went to SM. Tuwang-tuwa ako doon sa Home World. I spent three hours there. As in talagang lahat ng binili ko for the kitchen. And then, tumawid ako, I went to Rustan's.
"So, for that entire day siguro, I spent mga seven hours. Namili lang talaga ako ng...and I even went as far as Binondo. Pumunta ako doon sa isang supplier ng lahat ng mga pang-hotel na ano... So, lahat ng sheets, towels, baso, kubiertos, plato... Lahat in-order ko. Ang saya!
"Kanya-kanya tayo ng trip sa buhay, di ba? Ako talaga yung kusina talaga. Ang saya!" pahabol pa niya.
May swimming pool ba ang bago nilang bahay?
"Wala, but it was my dream. Ibinigay sa akin ang hilig ko. E, kanya-kanyang hilig tayo, di ba? Kasi dream ko dati talaga sub-zero ang mga refs ko. But I'm proud kasi yung bahay talaga namin ni Boy is made out of TV [shows and endorsements]," sabi ng TV host-actress.
BABY JAMES. Bukod kay Kris, may gagawin din daw na bagong TV commercial ang kanyang bunso na si Baby James.
"Tatlo ‘yon, e. Sa two years na deal, tatlo ‘yan sa Pampers [diapers]. Kasi stages ‘yan: from newborn, then parang gumagapang na maglalakad na, tapos yung pag nakatayo na. Sinara 'yon ni Boy na tatlo sila, stages of his life, lahat Pampers."
Kailan nila balak ni James na sundan si Baby James?
"You know, yung ano talaga... Kanina nung pinapanood ko si Ruffa [Gutierrez] and her two daughters sa Boy & Kris, parang sabi ko talaga, ‘Bakit hindi ako nagka-girl?' Yung ganun talaga.
"Pero at this point talaga, I have a twelve-year-old [Josh] and six-month-old, sobrang hindi mo na alam kung paano mo hahatiin ang sarili mo. What more kung dadagdagan ko ng isa?
"So, perfect na silang dalawa kasi parehong in love naman sila sa Nanay nila. So, okay na ‘yon. I think that's the benefit of having boys. The boys will be sobrang malambing towards the mom talaga," pahayag ni Kris.
Hindi naman ba nagre-request si James na sundan na nila si Baby James?
