Isyu agad ang itinanong ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa young actress na si Maxene Magalona sa presscon ng Kamandag last Monday, November 12, sa Studio 3 ng GMA Network. May mga nag-isip kasi na lilipat siya sa ABS-CBN dahil nagkasunud-sunod ang guesting niya noon sa Homeboy at hindi siya napanood sa mga show ng GMA-7 pagkatapos mawala sa ere ang Daddy DiDoDu.
"Nag-guest lang ako sa show ni Boy Abunda dahil inimbita ako at wala naman akong ginagawa. Wala pa ang Kamandag nang mag-guest ako doon, saka walang offer ang ABS-CBN sa akin. May nagsabi pang nagbi-VJ ako sa MYX, pero hindi. Sa Homeboy lang ako nag-guest," paliwanag ni Maxene.
Nabibisita rin pala ni Maxene ang thread ng Kamandag sa ilang fan sites, kung saan nag-aaway ang fans nila ni Jewel Mische. Hindi pa man nagsisimula ang show nila, pinagtatalunan na kung sino sa kanilang dalawa ang makakatuluyan ni Richard Gutierrez.
"Natatawa ako at gumawa pa talaga sila ng poll sa amin ni Jewel," sabi ng young actress. "In-explain ko sa blog ko na wala silang dapat pag-awayan dahil tatlo kaming leading ladies ni Richard at kasama doon si Ehra [Madrigal]. Kahit kami, hindi pa namin alam kung kanino mapupunta si Vergel [Richard] in the end."
Ini-expect na rin ni Maxene na mali-link sila ni Richard, pero dahil sanay na sa showbiz, hindi na raw siya magugulat. Kahit kaninong artista raw ay nangyayari ito at naiintindihan niya.
Maiintindihan din ba ng kanyang non-showbiz boyfriend kung ma-link siya kay Richard?
"Basta masaya ako at accepted ng parents ko na may BF ako at okay lang sa kanila. Alangan namang forever akong bata? I'm turning 21 on November 23, pero wala akong balak magpa-party. Everything's going on beautifully with my life, masaya ako at gusto kong mag-focus sa career ko," pahayag ni Maxene na hindi nag-elaborate tungkol sa kanyang boyfriend.
Obvious na masaya si Maxene sa pagdating ng Kamandag dahil inayos niya ang schedule ng classes niya sa Ateneo, kung saan fourth year na siya sa kursong Social Sciences.
"Right time and right project ang dumating sa akin," sambit niya. "Mas may free time na akong mag-showbiz dahil fourth year na nga ako. I shifted from Theater Arts to Social Sciences dahil gusto kong maging teacher o magkaroon ng Day Care Center na parang Gymboree.
"Para walang conflict sa sked ko, Tuesday and Thursday lang ang classes ko and from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Ang MWF ko ay para sa taping ng Kamandag. Fifteen units lang ang kinuha ko ngayon. Hindi ako nagmamadali kaya sa 2009 pa ako magga-graduate."
May mga ayaw gawin si Maxene at sana raw ay irespeto siya sa kanyang desisyon.
"Ayokong magpa-sexy at kung magpapa-sexy man ako, I don't want to show skin. Ayokong lumabas sa men's magazine, hindi ko kaya. Hanggang Cosmo mag lang ako. Ayoko ring magkaroon ng bed scene, lalong hindi ko kaya. Ayokong maintriga, I'm a very behaved girl and I know how to act in public. Ayoko ring sabihin ng tao na narating ko ito because of my dad, dahil I work hard din naman," sabi ng anak ng Master Rapper na si Francis Magalona.
