Nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Karylle upang linawin ang kumalat na balita noong nakaraang linggo na hiwalay na sila ng kanyang kasintahan na si Dingdong Dantes.
Noong una'y sa texting lang muna kami nakipag-usap kay Karylle at sinabi pa nito sa amin na huwag nang ilabas pa ang sagot niya ukol sa isyu. Baduy na raw kasi kung ilalabas pa ang sagot niya na wala namang katotohanan ang balitan.
Pero nang banggitin naming mukhang hindi titigil ang mga tsismis tungkol sa kanilang "hiwalayan" kung walang statement na manggagaling sa kanya, tumawag na nang tuluyan si Karylle sa aming cellphone para magbigay ng kanyang statement.
"Baka kasi I was in Las Vegas for almost a week kaya siguro may isyu na naman ng breakup," kaswal lang na pahayag ni Karylle sa amin. "Lahat kami sa family, we were in Vegas for my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary.
"Hindi ko nga alam where it [breakup rumor] came from. Kasi, bago pa ‘ko umalis for Vegas, nag-shoot pa kami ng MTV ni Dong. Gumanap kami na lolo at lola, parang yun ang presentation namin for my lolo at lola nga [Zsa Zsa Padilla's parents, Carlos and Cating Padilla, ang tinutukoy na lolo at lola ni Kaye]. So, yun ba ang nag-break?" natatawa na lang na pagpapatuloy ni Karylle.
Ayon pa kay Karylle, Saturday raw yata when she read an article about their "breakup." Ang nakakatawa pa raw nito, she was having dinner with Dingdong's family and her dad. It was a very nice dinner where they cooked burgers, pizza, pasta, and steak.
Si Dingdong pa nga raw ang sumundo sa kanya sa airport noong dumating siya 5 a.m. yesterday. Biro tuloy namin, napaka-sweet naman ni Dingdong considering "break" na sila'y nagawa pa siyang sunduin nito.
"Actually, napadaan lang siya sa airport..." sakay naman ni Karylle sa biro namin.
On the other hand, tila sanay na rin si Karylle sa mga intriga sa relasyon nilang dalawa ni Dingdong, especially ang paulit-ulit na isyu ng breakup, lalo pa nga nang mag-hit ang on-screen team-up nina Dingdong at Marian Rivera sa Marimar.
Hindi na nag-comment pa si Karylle when PEP said na baka kaya may isyu na naman ng breakup ay dahil malapit na ang final week ng Marimar and after that, sisimulan na rin kaagad ang Dyesebel na muling magtatampok sa dalawa.
