Barely a week after the unveiling of his billboard in EDSA for his Bench Body endorsement, Dingdong Dantes comes up with another advertisement for television.
The Sergio Santibañez of the Philippines met the entertainment media last night, March 13, to introduce his newest endorsement, Medicol, at his co-owned restaurant, Circle's Café in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
After the presentation, Dingdong received praises from the media for continuously receiving product endorsements, which for him is also one indication of having a successful showbiz career.
"Ang range para masabi mong effective, kahit as a person man lang is when, you know, dumarating yung mga endorsements na ganito," explained Dingdong. "So, ito [Medicol] talaga yung isang solid na endorsement. Talagang mayroon pang tagline and everything, dahil ibig sabihin, ipinagkatiwala talaga nila sa akin ang ganung klaseng produkto. It's very flattering and at the same time sana maging ganun na yung momentum, maging ganun na yung lahat."
Since the new endorsement was presented only a few days after he revealed his Bench billboard in Guadalupe, Makati City, reporters asked Dingdong about the difference between the two in terms of talent fee.
Dingdong replied without revealing the amount, "Sa totoo lang talaga, ang Bench naman talaga, ang relationship namin ay hindi TF [talent fee]-based. Like, yung sponsorship pa lang nila sa akin, yung binibigay na damit. Kumbaga, hindi na matutumbasan ng kahit ano yun. Grabe talaga. Sa Marimar, lahat ng gamit ko roon Bench. 'Tapos nakakakuha rin ako sa Celio. So, sa ganung bagay pa lang, at saka ang relationship namin is not TF-based."
The actor-host-endorser also said that Medicol and Bench are two different products, so there is no point of comparison.
ACTING AWARD. Following the tagline of Medicol, Dingdong could say, "I will win an acting award this year."
"Gusto ko talaga," said Dingdong when asked about his wish to have an acting award.
Dingdong will be celebrating his 10th showbiz anniversary in April. In line with this, the entertainment press told him that maybe the reason he has not received an award yet was because of his wrong choices of projects.
Dingdong did not think of it this way. He explained, "Mas maganda siguro na kung magkaroon man ng pagkakamali, which I don't think naman na nagkaroon, kung mayroon man, it's good na ginawa ko siya slowly but surely.
"Pinagdaanan ko ang lahat ng dapat kong pagdaanan, wala akong [na-skip]—mula nang pagiging miyembro ng dance group, ng isang love team, for a time nag-host—napagdaanan ko lahat. Siyempre napagdaanan ko lahat and I'm proud of it.
"Hindi ako instant na nandito, pinaghirapan ko siya. Kung may mali mang desisyon, I mean, mapangit man, at least natuto ako dun. I learned from it."
FRUSTRATED MOVIE ACTOR. In his ten years in show business, Dingdong has already tried almost every job in it—acting, dancing, singing, and even hosting. But Dingdong has become more popular in acting. He has been in several television shows like TGIS, Encantadia, Atlantika, and the most recent is Marimar, which will end tonight, March 14.
Dingdong also played a role in successful movies like Moments of Love, Eternity, and last year in Resiklo. However, when asked what else he wants to do aside from doing teleseryes, the 27-year-old actor said that he wants to have more movie projects.
