Star Cinema rebuffs "tapatan" issue with Juday's movie

Nagpadala ng text message sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ngayong araw, April 21, ang AdProm director ng Star Cinema na si Roxy Liquigan. Kaugnay ito ng kasalukuyang Poll ng PEP: "Tama bang magtampo si Judy Ann dahil tinapatan ng Star Cinema ang kanyang Ploning?"
Ang Ploning ay ang pelikula ni Judy Ann Santos mula sa Panoramanila samantalang ang tinutukoy namang pelikula ng Star Cinema ay ang When Love Begins, tampok sina Aga Muhlach at Anne Curtis. Sabay na magbubukas ang dalawang pelikula sa April 30.
Base sa resulta ng Poll, as of today, 60 percent ang sumagot ng "Oo" at 40 percent naman ang nagsabing "Hindi."
Ayon kay Roxy, misleading daw ang tanong ng PEP sa Poll. Hindi raw kasi totoo na tinapatan ng Star Cinema ang Ploning.
"Nauna kami mag-book ng movie, June 2007 pa kami naka-book sa theater circuits. Sila [producers ng Ploning] last October 2007. So hindi kami tumapat sa Ploning," paliwanag ni Roxy sa kanyang text message.
Ipinaliwanag naman ng PEP sa Star Cinema na may pinaggalingan ang katunangan sa aming Poll. Sa panayam ng PEP kay Judy Ann na lumabas noong April 14 (Click here to read the full story), sinabi niyang nagulat siya sa pagkakasabay ng pelikula niyang Ploning sa When Love Begins ng Star Cinema.
Si Judy Ann ay artista rin ng ABS-CBN at ng film arm nitong Star Cinema. Sa katunayan, ang huling pelikula ng aktres bago itong Ploning ay ang Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo na iprinodyus ng Star Cinema.
Ayon kay Judy Ann, "Kasi kami, bago pa kami mag-shoot, may playdate na kami, may booking na kami. Kung sinuman ang makakakilala sa mga bookers, they can ask. Ako, nagulat lang. Pero at the end of the day, you can realize na this is just business. Business is business at wala ka namang magagawa roon.
"Kumbaga, sino ba naman ako? Sino nga ba naman si Judy Ann Santos para mag-move ang isang production ng playdate? So, huwag na lang... Ayoko na lang anuhin, hahaba lang ang isyu," pahayag ng aktres.
Hindi marahil naipaliwanag kay Judy Ann na unang nagpa-book ang Star Cinema kesa sa Panoramanila, na siyang nag-produce ng Ploning.
