Hindi na idinidenay ng aktres na si Desiree del Valle ang relasyon nila ng dancer-comedian na si Vhong Navarro.
"It's really been good. We're both very happy. We respect each other's work. His family is very close to me already," saad ni Desiree sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kahapon, April 22, sa second presscon ng When Love Begins ng Star Cinema. Ang naturang pelikula ay pinagbibidahan nina Aga Muhlach at Anne Curtis.
Hindi naman lingid sa kaalaman ng lahat na may dalawa nang anak si Vhong; ang isa ay sa estranged wife niyang si Bianca Lapus at ang isa naman ay mula sa isang non-show ex-girlfriend niya. Close ba si Desiree sa dalawang anak ni Vhong?
"Yes, both of them," sagot ng aktres. "Every weekend, they're with him. When I have the time, I get to spend time with them as well."
"Tita Des" daw ang tawag kay Desiree ng dalawang anak ni Vhong.
Okey lang kay Desiree kahit matatagalan pa ang resulta ng annulment case ni Vhong at ni Bianca.
"First of all, I went into this relationship with him na alam ko, di ba?" paglilinaw niya. "I know what I'm getting myself into. I don't want to think of it as hopefully we get married, you know. I don't want have that kind of concept.
"Basta ako, mahal ko siya, I love everything about him. I believe ganoon din siya sa akin. So I don't want to put a time frame. I don't want tell him na 'O, kailangan in two years or in three years, kailangang pakasalan mo ako.' Hindi ganoon, e, di ba? It can never be like that. Basta I respect him, he respects me."
Anong traits ni Vhong ang nakita niya kaya minahal niya ang dancer-comedian?
"He makes me laugh," sambit niya. "Saka mabait po talaga siya, you know. I think everybody can attest to that. He's really a great guy. He's a good father. He's a good son. He's a great person talaga."
Totoo bang nagli-live in na sila ni Vhong?
"Hindi po" mabilis niyang sagot. "We live separately. But of course, di ba, when there's time to see each other... I mean, di ba, he's very busy? So that's when we see each other, we give time for that. Kaya every time na nagkikita kami, alam ninyo yun, excited lagi. And we update each other what's happening."
Kung napapatawa ni Vhong si Desiree, may mga times kaya na napapaiyak din siya ni Vhong?
"Meron. Nung napanood ko yung MMK [Maalaala Mo Kaya] niya. Saka yung mga crying scenes niya sa Lastikman. Yung may eksena rin sa Supahpapalicious, yung mga ganyan," banggit niya.
So never pa talaga siyang pinaiyak ni Vhong sa totoong buhay?
"Wala pa talaga," sabi niya. "I don't know, people may find it weird that we don't fight. Kasi kami, we talk about it all the time. If there's something that, you know, a little bit of parang konting inis lang, we talk about it, e. We don't hide it and keep it. Laging 'Oy, alam mo kanina?' Yung ganun. And it comes naturally sa aming dalawa, which I like, I really like. Kasi I hate fight in a relationship. I mean, di ba, who doesn't? Nakakainis kasi yung ganun, e."
