Matagal din palang hindi nakaarte ang nakababatang kapatid ni Maricel Soriano na si Mel Martinez sa isang soap drama. Huling nilabasan na soap drama ni Mel ay ang Princess Charming noong isang taon pa.
Sey ni Mel ay hindi naman daw niya hinahanap-hanap ang paglabas sa mga soap dramas dahil may pinagkakaabalahan din siyang trabaho. Nagdidirek si Mel ng mga commercial ads na exclusive lang na pinapalabas sa GMA-7.
"Doon ako naging busy talaga. Kasi sunud-sunod ang mga nagawa ko kaya nag-enjoy ako," ngiti pa ni Mel.
"It's nice to do things na iba naman. Siyempre, bata pa lang ako, umaarte na ako, ‘di ba? E isa sa mga pangarap ko ay ang maging isang director. Kaya ito, natupad naman kahit sa paggawa ng commercials."
Noong i-offer nga sa kanya ang role sa Una Kang Naging Akin, hindi na raw niya ito tinanggihan dahil alam niyang magandang project ito at panahon na raw na umarte siya ulit.
"Role ni Michael de Mesa na bading ang natoka sa akin. Napanood ko naman ang movie at maganda siya. More than the project nga, makakatrabaho ko ulit si Angelika dela Cruz na na-miss kong makatrabaho. Nagsama na kasi kami before sa Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin.
"'Tapos nandiyan din sila Gina Alajar, Wendell Ramos, Alfred Vargas at si Direk Joel Lamangan na mga kaibigan ko. Kaya ang saya-sayang makabalik sa ganitong klaseng show."
Naikuwento rin ni Mel na kasama siya sa show ng TV5 na Hush Hush kunsaan kasama rin ang dating husband ng pamangkin niyang si Meryll Soriano na si Bernard Palanca.
Sey naman ni Mel na hindi pa raw niya nakakaeksena si Bernard pero wala naman daw silang problema. Sa pagkakaalam niya ay maayos na silang nag-usap ni Meryll.
"Ang alam ko, pareho silang nagplano para sa birthday party ng anak nilang si Elijah. So it means na nagkakausap na sila at dasal naman naming lahat na magkaayos sila for the sake of their child.
"Siguro nga, hindi na nag-work yung pagsasama nila. Pero kung para lang sa anak nila, doon sila magkaayos. Sa tingin ko naman, mukhang okey na si Bernard. Naayos na niya ang sarili niya at ngayon nagtatrabaho na siya ulit. That's a good sign, ‘di ba?" pagtatapos pa ni Mel Martinez.
