"Yes, anytime, kahit bukas!" says Alessandra de Rossi when asked if she's ready to get married.
This topic was brought up when Alessandra, or Alex to her close friends in showbiz, remembered her batchmates in the defunct teen-oriented show Click during a chat with her yesterday, October 2, at the 9501 restaurant, ABS-CBN Compound in Quezon City.
"'Yong mga ka-Click ko, sila Danica [Sotto], Maybeline dela Cruz, lahat may asawa na, parang naiwan ako. Actually, hindi ako naiinggit, pero naiisip ko lang, parang puwede rin na isa ako sa mga 'yan kasi magkaka-batch kami," the 24-year-old actress said.
Although Alex thinks that she's ready to settle down, she clarifies that she can't marry just any guy. "Basta tama siya, hindi naman puwedeng may dumating lang na mabait, 'tapos [kasal na]. Ay, kailangan talaga mag-fit siya doon, 'tapos ready na ako."
What qualities does Alessandra look for in a guy?
Alessandra, who has been single for two years, replied, "Mayaman, mabait, guwapo, hindi babaero, at matangkad."
On hearing this description, entertainment columnist Ethel Ramos commented, "Alam mo, may isang tao akong naiisip—si Jeremy [Marquez]."
Actor Jeremy Marquez, son of the actor and former mayor of Parañaque Joey Marquez, was the last boyfriend of Alessandra.
Ms. Ethel then asked, "Pangarap mo pa rin bang maging first lady ng Parañaque?"
Without thinking twice, Alessandra blurted, "Hindi!"
There's no chance for them to get back together. "Wala na talaga. Wala na 'yon, wala na 'yon, tapos na 'yon. Napakatagal na no'n."
READY... OR NOT. During the conversation, Alex herself seemed unsure if she's ready for another serious commitment.
"Noong kailan nagdadasal ako. Sabi ko, ‘Sana magkaroon ako ng dyowa [boyfriend], God, na ganito, ganyan.' Sabi ko, ‘God, dapat darating siya mga bago mag-December.' Parang bigla akong natakot, ‘Ay, huwag muna pala!' Natakot ako, e."
The morena actress explained that she's still enjoying the life of a single woman, especially after having gone through controversial breakups with former celebrity boyfriends—Oyo Sotto, Biboy Ramirez, Polo Ravales, and Jeremy.
"Ine-enjoy ko muna itong aking pagiging single," she said. "Masaya lang siya, mas wala akong pressure, mas walang stress. Ang hirap kasi kapag mayroon ka nang relationship, dalawa na 'yong iniisip mo, hindi lang sarili mo. Aminin na natin, nakaka-stress naman 'yong pinagdaanan ko, di ba?"
Did she have a trauma with her past relationship?
She answered, "Hindi naman, hindi naman. Part lang 'yon ng paglaki na kailangan kong pagdaanan as a person. Although hindi siya nakatulong sa pagiging aktres ko, part talaga 'yon. Kailangan ko siyang pagdaanan."
When asked again if a second chance is possible for her past relationships, Alessandra replied, "Hindi ko masasabi na ganyan, pero I'm hoping and praying na wala na talaga. Kasi minsan sinasapian tayo, di ba? Kapag may ibang sumapi sa akin, alam n'yo na 'yon. Pero hindi talaga, hindi talaga."
Despite the bitter endings, Alex made it clear that she has already forgiven her past boyfriends. "Iba naman kapag mahal mo, di ba, madaling patawarin."
How about the other girls that were linked to her ex-boyfriends and who allegedly caused the breakups?
"Iba naman 'yong special sa 'yo," said Alessandra. "Kumbaga, madaling sabihin na, ‘O sige na nga, ayusin na natin 'yong friendship natin kasi may pinagsamahan tayo.' Pero siyempre, 'yong mga babae niya, wala naman kaming pinagsamahan no'n, hindi talaga kami magbabati kahit anong mangyari.
"Kumbaga, walang nasira, walang dapat ibalik, 'yong ganung feeling. Pero okay na siya sa akin kahit makasalubong ko," said Alex, referring to the alleged third parties in her past relatonships.
