It's a week's worth of showbiz goodness with Entertainment Live dishing out the latest news in local Tinseltown.
JUDAY HAPPY WITH SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT. Last Monday, November 17, Judy Ann Santos got the surprise of her life when she received support from the office of the President of the Philippines and the Film Development Council of the Philippines. This was all done for her film Ploning which was included in Oscar's shortlist in the foreign language category.
The financial support Juday's group got would be a big help. "Nag-pledge sila ng support worth 2.5 million to cover some of the expenses na kakailanganin namin... very thankful kami at very grateful kami."
Ploning director Dante Garcia also feels thankful for all the support they're getting. He said, "Ang sarap makita na nagtutulung-tulong."
This December 8, Juday will be leaving for the U.S. to prepare for the red- carpet premiere of Ploning in Hollywood.
JOMARI "WOOS" POPS AND MARTIN. During the Grand Opening of the Café La Carmela last Wednesday, November 19, Entertainment Live got to talk with Jomari Yllana and he expressed his desire to produce the reunion concert of girlfriend Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera.
"Pinag-uusapan namin yun with Martin and Pops. We're having negotiations right now. Sana matuloy siya," Jomari explained. Then he quipped, "Sa madaling salita, nililigawan ko yung dalawa at sana sagutin nila ako."
KIT KAT IN TEARS OVER EX. Kit Kat's ex-boyfriend Alfred talks back at the comedienne's accusation of theft. He said that he didn't steal anything from Kit Kat and he added that the comedienne stole from him. Alfred also said that he was not hiding and that he was receiving threats from Kit Kat's father.
Kit Kat guests today at EL to say her piece on the ongoing issue. Sniffing, she related to EL that she was traumatized by the experience and that she can't eat. "Mahirap," she said, voice cracking.
Alfred, who allowed a phone interview with EL a while ago, said that Kit Kat was the one who was guilty. What is her say on this?
"Ganito lang ‘yan, e," Kit Kat said, "dapat kahapon makikipagkita na siya sa amin ni Mr. Calvento [Tony Calvento] and Sec. Raul Gonzales. Hindi na naman siya sumipot. Simula noong nag-umpisa ito, ako, kahit kanino humaharap ako at pinangangatawanan ko lahat mga sinabi ko at mga totoong nangyari. Pero siya, hindi siya mahagilap o hindi mahanap. So, doon makikita kung sino ang guilty."
"Bakit siya nagtatago?" asked Kit Kat. "Bakit hindi siya lumabas at depensahan niya sarili niya."
As a final note, Kit Kat aired in her message to Alfred, wherever he is.
"Alam mo ang totoo," a crying Kit Kat began. "Alam mo kung saan ako nagsimula. Ultimo ngayon, alam mo ang pagtulong ko sa pamilya ko. Ngayon, ubos na ang gamot ng lola ko, alam mo ‘yan, pati gamot para sa lola ko kinuha mo. Wala kang itinira sa akin. Magpakita ka. Kung ano man ang mga kasalanan mo, pagbayaran mo."
As a last note, Kit Kat revealed that she was adding cases of libel and perjury agaisnt her ex since Alfred allegedly dropped some names that had nothing to do with the issue.
POKWANG SIGNS MUSIC CONTRACT. Wowowee co-host and comedian Pokwang adds another achievement on her career as she ventures into music. The comedian was elated when she signed her contract with Star Records.
"Ito ang album na talagang seryoso," Pokwang said. "Seryoso ako dito. Seryoso ang patawa ko dito."
VILMA SANTOS EXCITED TO WORK WITH LUIS AND JOHN LLOYD. It's confirmed. Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, John Llyod Cruz, and Luis Manzano will star in a movie produced by Star Cinema.
At the story conference, the three stars could hardly contain their excitement about shooting the movie in New York.
"I'm so excited," Vilma smiled. "I'm very, very excited to do a movie after almost... mag-five years na yata na hindi ako nakagawa ng pelikula."
Luis himself was happy to finally star in a film with his mom. He said, "The moment na mag-5, 4, 3, 2...maiisip ko agad at madadama ko na makakasama ko ang yung Vilma Santos. It's overwhelming and nerve-racking. It has always been a dream of mine to work with my mom."
"Sitting here next to her, it's more than an honor," agreed John Lloyd.
Turning to John Lloyd, Vilma said, "I have a Best Actor [awardee] here, si John Llyod. Isa pang nakaka-excite na tinanggap ito ng anak ko, so this is another challenge. Hindi ko ma-imagine. "
