Ngayong nasa iisang management na lang sina Christian Bautista at Karylle—ang Stages Production Specialists Inc. headed by Carlo Orosa—marami ang nagsasabi na malaki ang posibilidad na ma-develop na nang tuluyan sa isa't isa ang dalawang singers. Bukod kasi sa pagiging "magkapatid" sa Stages ay magkasama na rin sila ngayon sa ASAP '08, na unang show ni Karylle sa ABS-CBN pagkatapos niyang lumipat mula sa GMA-7.
Parehong single and available ngayon sina Christian at Karylle. Matagal-tagal na ring natapos ang relasyon ni Christian sa dati niyang girlfriend na si Rachelle Ann Go, samantalang si Karylle naman ay nakipag-break na rin sa ex-boyfriend niyang si Dingdong Dantes.
Unang nagkasama sa musical na West Side Story, malaking bagay rin ang pagiging kapwa singers nina Karylle at Christian, and music can be their common interest.
Sa interview ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Christian, he labeled his current relationship with Karylle as "pure friendship."
"Ngayon, we're still friends, but we're not closing any doors. If it does happen, it will happen. Okay sa akin. Why not, right? Pero ako kasi, ayokong magmadali. Siya din naman, ayaw niya rin," sabi ni Christian.
Alam ni Christian na ang pagiging "magkapatid" nila ni Karylle sa iisang management at ang madalas nilang pagsasama sa trabaho ay ang rason kung bakit nali-link sila sa isa't isa.
"Siguro dahil sa West Side Story, nagkasama kami dun. Tapos same management, madalas kayong gagamitin sa mga corporate shows," ani Christian.
All praises din si Christian kay Karylle, na aniya ay girlfriend material. Although wala raw siyang sinusunod na requirement sa isang taong maaari niyang mahalin in the future.
"She's talented, she's beautiful, friendly, she's a good person. But ako, I'm not looking for a type. You know naman pag dumating na, di ba?"
Naging controversial at pinag-usapan sa loob at labas ng showbiz ang breakup nina Karylle at Dingdong, kahit parehong tikom pa rin ang bibig ng dalawa sa totoong dahilan ng kanilang paghihiwalay. Ito rin ang dahilan kung bakit ayaw munang makigulo ni Christian.
"That's also one aspect," aniya. "Huwag muna ngayon kasi hindi dapat magmadali. She just came from a relationship na katatapos pa lang. Eventually, gaya nga ng sinabi ko, kung mangyayari, bakit hindi? But right now, we're friends."
Labas na sa market ang Face Off album nina Erik Santos at Christian na compilation ng kanilang mga kanta. Magkakaroon din sila ng concert with Piolo Pascual, Mark Bautista and Sam Milby sa Araneta Coliseum on February 21, 2009.
