LOL... cute talaga ni kaye. Hindi sila naka AMTRAK, kungdi naka CADILLAC. CADILLAC-kad. Nagpasiya silang pumasok sa loob ng tunnel ng tren, on foot. Nang sandaling nasa loob sila ng tunnel, saka dumaan iyong Amtrak.

Iyong website na naka link sa itaas, may nagpaliwanag ng VACUUM, SUCTION and WIND FORCES. Kung bakit iyong signal to LEAN BACK is not sufficient. Galing. So kung may manggaya ng ginawa nila, at iisipin lang na, basta LEAN BACK as far away from the train as possible, as close as possible to the wall, hindi pala ganun kadali.

Bakit naman sila naka Amtrak? Sana nag rent a car nalang sila. Takot talaga ako sa Amtrak.

Authorities are investigating the death of Myra Theresa Mina-Calove of Woodland Hills, who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train inside the tunnel near Chatsworth Park yesterday evening.

According to MyFox Los Angeles, Mina-Calove, 32 previous reports said 45 or 25, was apparently quot;walking with her husband, her two sisters and a friendquot; inside the tunnel when the Pacific Surfliner train that originated in Goleta bound for San Diego carrying 400 passengers came by.

The LAPD say the woman quot;was struck in the head by a grab-bar on the train,quot; and they believe it's possible that quot;when the five saw the train coming, they may have panicked and run back into the tunnel instead of out toward the train.quot;

No one on board was hurt, however the train could not resume service for over two hours following the accident. According to Amtrak's Vernae Graham, quot;[their other area route] The Coast Starlight was delayed by the incident but not directly i

i agree with meryl 129! i saw this pic through the original website and showed copyright of so and so...how did PEP get this clear copy? just wondering???? whatever happened to these people should serve as a warning to all not to go into some strange looking place like that. we all get curious but everyone should be very careful. it's so sad that things ended this way for them. they should've never gone in that tunnel to begin with..i'm pretty sure they knew trains go through it but probably still got so curious to the point they dared themselves to go in anyway. who knows. i doubt the company is liable for anything..i don't don't think that they Jay-R and friends can even pursue a case even if they tried cause this was all voluntary. sorry it ended in tragedy.

Ways they can honor the loved one who died, is by them educating the public, even if they start from their own families and friends. Sa atin man sa Pilipinas, ang mga trasportation authorities, nahihirapan sa ating mga Pinoy, because we have a penchant for not observing transportation and traffic rules. Another, if they feel the Los Angeles Fire Department treated them and their dead love one with the best treatment ever, they and their friends and family can support fundraising activities of the LAFD to benefit the widows and children of firemen. The firemen put their own safety on the line everyday, to save lives and properties. They do not care if you are sikat or not, brown, white or black, rich or poor. For them, each life is priceless.

meryl..fyi pep asked permission from the owner of the picture. the picture is copyrighted and pep bought the right to the pix. don't we have the right to see the pictures and the people from the US has? you are really out of line with your request. pep has the right to post the pictures because they responded to their readers and it's their duty as a website with integrity and transparency to bring the true story and posting the pictures which is also posted in the LAFD website. Check the comment on that picture in the LAFD site and you will see PEP's request to post the picture and the reply of LAFD.

Maybe the others seen walking in and out of the tunnel, they know the train schedule. Meryl, PEP got permission. Despite the compassion, let this also serve as a teaching moment. We can always share this with our cousins or siblings or pamangkins abroad, kung saan may mga train tunnels, and where people can be adventurous. Let us remind our love ones, to also give respect to other people's properties. Pag sinabing NO TRESPASSING, do not trespass. Huwag basta basta susunod sa mali, kahit na maraming gumagawa noon. Just do the right thing, even if no one is looking.

PEP, as a respect to Jay-R, his friends and their families, alisin or palitan ninyo naman ang litrato. They are grieving/coping and posting this picture is not going to help them. Moreso, the picture taken was not property of PEP and I doubt that you had permission to post this from the LAFD site. This picture is a reminder of what happened that fateful day. The link with the pictures you provided earlier was enough but posting the picture in your website is wrong because it is not your work.

I was wondering why the group didn't know about anything about Chatsworth tunnel.D ba may accident lang last September 2008,2 trains collided.I'm sure yung mga lalake sa group ang nagyaya na pasukin ang tunnel.I feel so sorry for the family of the girl who died.May her soul Rest in Peace.

yung mga bata na nakita nila at babae na may dalang bata, parang nakakatakot naman. i mean paanong may mga bata don sa loob ng tunnel na labas-pasok considering na yung lugar e di naman regular na puntahan ng tao. saka imagine na lang kung ano kaya yung ginawa nilang 5, dumikit sa wall?

gabi4ever, dahil sa PANIC, siguro they tried to RUN AWAY from the train. Instead of running to the nearest point out of the tunnel, which could mean running towards the train. Nearest exit, or outrun the train. Sa eroplano, when flight attendants give the safety reminders, they tell passengers to LOOK FOR THE NEAREST EXIT. It may be behind the passengers.

.. and it could be bcuz its too dark in the tunnel, hindi din na estimate ni Mayra how far she was from the train. And as you know if you are standing too close to the train it will create enough of a vacuum and its possible too that bcuz of this Mrya lost her balance.

It could be that Myra got disoriented... instead of running away from the incoming train, she ended up running towards it. Or she panicked and could not move fast enough and was left behind by her husband

These grown ups poor judgement put themselves and the passenger of the trains in danger. I hope people will learn from this kind of tragic accident.
