YES! takes a peek inside Manny Pacquiao’s GenSan mansion and Boracay hotel

YES! magazine kicked off 2009 by making Philippine publishing history as the only magazine to have a total circulation of 215,000 copies. It may be difficult to duplicate such a feat, but YES! rises to the challenge with a February issue packed with special features and exclusives.

The People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao opens his doors to YES!, giving an exclusive tour of his mansion in General Santos City and his Boracay hotel.

Known to local tourists as “Pacman’s Mansion," Manny’s house is a two-story structure that sits on a 2,300-square-meter lot and boasts seven bedrooms, a swimming pool in the shape of a boxing glove, a gym with a sauna, a billiards room, an entertainment center, and a recording studio.

It is his dream house, one that he paid for using the $3 million he won during his 2006 fight against Mexico’s Erik Morales. With high ceilings, tall windows, a classical design, and grand furniture, it is a home that's fit for a man whose estimated worth in the last two years is “$21 million, or 1 billion Philippine pesos at an exchange rate of 49:1$”, according to Financemanila.net.

Manny is quick to say that the house–together with his other properties—are investments for the future of his children.

“Ako kasi, basta may bahay, okey na,” he tells YES!. “Kahit saan, puwede akong tumira. Sanay ako sa buhay-mahirap, e. Kaya lang, ‘yong mga anak ko, namulat na sila sa masarap na buhay. So, kailangan ko silang paghandaan, para hindi sila mahirapan paglaki, pagdating ng panahon.”

Manny has brought honor to the country time and again in the field of boxing, but even he knows that there is an end to all this.

“Siguro, konting fight na lang ako,” he tells YES!. “Na-achieve ko na lahat ng kailangan ko sa boxing. Kasi, siyempre, matagal na ako sa boxing, e—twelve years old pa ako hanggang ngayon, di ba? Eighteen years na ako sa boxing.”

This is why Manny now chooses to concentrate on building his investments—a compound that houses the bungalow that Manny calls his “lucky house” and was also the setting for his biopic Pacquiao, commercial establishments like the MJP Building and Pacman’s Convenience Store in General Santos City, two residential properties in Metro Manila, a nine-door apartment in Los Angeles, a house-and-lot in Beverly Hills, California–“Para may natitirahan naman yung pamilya ko pag nandoon sila o pag nagbabakasyon kami”—and a resort in Boracay.

The resort is named Boracay West Cove, and YES! has exclusive photos in its February issue. While it is not yet fully operational, the hotel will be targeting foreign honeymooners in search of privacy in a romantic setting. The resort is partly hidden from the view of tourists and has a perfect view of Boracay’s sunrise and sunset.

Manny’s business partner Crisostomo Aquino jokes, “Diyan nila nabuo si Queen Elizabeth!” Queen Elizabeth is Manny’s new baby, born on December 30, 2008 in Los Angeles, California. Why this name for his second daughter? Manny simply says, “E, kasi, meron na akong Princess, di ba?”

See exclusive photos of Manny’s properties and his P3.5 million birthday bash in the February issue of YES! magazine, available in news stands, bookstores, and supermarkets nationwide.

well it does really reflect who lives in the house with the way it was built and designed, including the style and colors! masabi lang na may mansion kahit baduy at nagkakandagulo ang mga gamit na wala sa ayos o right positioning. oo mahal nga yung mga materials sa pag-gawa ng house ni manny pero 'di maganda ang kinalabasan, sana kumuha sila ng magaling ng interior designer para naging maganda ang kinalabasan ng mansion nila ni jinky. this is just a comment, this is a free country so i can say whatever i want to... true naman lahat ng sinabi ko, pwera na lang sa mga jologs sa tabi2.
