ABS-CBN shows prevailed over GMA-7 programs from February 1 to 7, according to the nationwide data survey released by media research firm TNS (Taylor Nelson Sofres) Trends.
Results show that the Kapamilya Network tallied a total of 43.5 percent against the Kapuso Network's 36.4—50 percent of which came from Metro Manila, another 50 percent from the suburbs and five regions, with three coming from Luzon. The breakdown per area chart revealed both networks' strongest territory with ABS-CBN owning majority of the surveyed areas: North Luzon (51.2 percent), South Luzon (59.8 percent), Visayas (58.7 percent) and Mindanao (62.8 percent).
GMA-7, on the other hand, affirmed its grip of the pivotal Metro Manila area by amassing a total of 38.8 percent grade against the 36.4 percent clip generated by its rival. The Kapuso network broke the game wide open in the Suburbs bracket by averaging a total household share of 49 percent against ABS-CBN's 30.5 percent. Central Luzon was also GMA-7's turf, collecting 49.9 percent compared to ABS-CBN's 33.8.
KAPAMILYA'S GRIT. ABS-CBN's wide viewership was illustrated in the summary of the top ranking shows under three timeslots: afternoon, primetime and weekend.
On weekdays, Willie Revillame's noontime variety game show, Wowowee, topped the game, with Richard Gomez's Family Feud coming in second.
The inclusion of four game-oriented shows (Eat Bulaga! and Pilipinas, Game KNB) in the top 5 affirmed the continuing popularity of game shows.
Sine Novela Presents Saan Darating Ang Umaga proved that local afternoon drama has not lost its appeal to the viewers despite the success of fantasy series programs.
Soaps imported from other countries were also consistent fixtures with Mischievous Princess, La Traicion The Betrayal, Be Strong Geum Soon, Rosalinda and Wanted Perfect Family making the cut.
The primetime division was ruled by series under an interesting mix of genres. ABS-CBN's newest evening program, May Bukas Pa, emerged on top followed by Bea Alonzo's I Love Betty La Fea. The country's longest running news program, TV Patrol World, cornered the third spot while Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson's Tayong Dalawa clinched No.4 overall. Heart Evangelista's GMA-7 fantasy series, Luna Mystika, settled for fifth spot.
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes's new series, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, trailed after Luna Mystika.
Charo Santos-Concio's enduring drama anthology program, Maalaala Mo Kaya, ruled the Weekend category while Luis Manzano's weekend favorite Flash Bomba immediately made its presence felt by landing the second spot.
More kapamilya programs joined the race with Rated K, The Singing Bee, and Komiks Presents Mars Ravelo's Dragona rounding up the Top 5.

DOS! LAOS!
ladulce
I'm not KAPUSO ,but, CORRECTION! It's not faded to love you, its FATED TO LOVE YOU. ok? Be carfeul next time, happy watching nalang our dear kapuso! ;

Did your teacher ever told you that....little knowledge is dangerous?
nobody cares of where the gma president came from. what i am after for is only one thing....and that's what i call BETTER TV PROGRAMS. hindi yong mga programs na baduy na kahit ipikit ang mga mata mo ay alam mo na ang ending.
