Kung pagbabasehan ang kilig na naramdaman ng karamihan ng entertainment press nang ipakita ang trailer ng You Changed My Life, sa press conference nito kahapon, February 17, hindi nakapagtatakang mahigitan ng second team-up nina John Lloyd Cruz at Sarah Geronimo ang kanilang very successful first movie.
Tinanong ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si John Lloyd kung nararamdaman ba niya na mahihigitan ng You Changed My Life ang A Very Special Love as early as now.
"Sana, sana nga talaga," asam din ng aktor. "Kung gaano karami ang nanood at nag-abang sa A Very Special Love, sana ganoon din dito sa You Changed My Life."
Masasabi ba niyang mas matindi ang pressure ngayon sa second movie nila?
"You can say that, you can say that," pagsang-ayon ni John Lloyd. "Pero kahit gaano man kabigat or kalaki ang pressure, pero alam mong you have a good movie to offer, we can be safe, at least."
Kilala na ng karamihan ang character na ginampanan ni John Lloyd sa You Changed My Life dahil sa A Very Special Love. Ano naman ang masasabi niyang pagkakahalintulad ni Miggy at ni John Lloyd bilang boyfriend?
"Well, pareho kami ni Miggy na marami pa kaming gusto sa buhay. Marami pa kaming gustong patunayan sa sarili namin. So, in that sense, puwede mong sabihin na medyo may pagkapareho kami sa pagiging boyfriend. Nagmamahal kami at the same time, gusto naming protektahan ang priorities namin. So, yun, kailangan namin makahanap ng katulad ni Layda [Sarah's character]."
Natawa naman si John Lloyd nang tanungin ng PEP kung katulad ni Miggy ay nagseselos din siya?
"Yun lang siguro..." bitin niyang sagot.
STILL TOGETHER. Hindi rin namamatay ang intriga sa relasyon nila ng girlfriend niyang si Liz Uy. Diumano'y nagkakalabuan na sila. Ano nga ba ang totoo rito?
"No, hindi totoo," tanggi ng aktor.
Nang tanungin si John Lloyd kung saan nagsimula ang isyung ito, pabalik nitong sinagot ang tanong sa entertainment press na dapat siya nga raw ang nagtatanong kung saan galing ang isyu.
Puwede ring isipin at i-connect ang nakaraang Valentine's Day dahil hindi sila magkasamang nag-celebrate ni Liz.
"Well, she was in Hong Kong with her friends. Ako naman, I was at work. So, siguro ano na lang, post. Actually, wala naman... Ako naman, hindi rin naman ako nag-e-elaborate ever since. Siyempre, mabigat ang time at yun ang mahirap," paliwanag niya.
Three years na rin halos ang relationship nila ni Liz. Sa tatlong taon na yun, paano niya ide-describe ang relationship nila?
"Paano ko siya ide-describe sa ngayon? I'll describe her just the same. Every morning, gigising ka, you have the same feeling... Siguro, I'm not comfortable lang talaga talking about my relationship."
BEA VS. SARAH. Pagdating naman sa telebisyon, sina John Lloyd at Bea Alonzo ang napapanood na magkapareha sa I Love Betty La Fea. Paano madi-differentiate ng aktor ang team-up niya kay Bea at kay Sarah ngayon?
"Malaking factor kasi yung number of years na magkatrabaho kami [ni Bea]," sagot ni John Lloyd. "Iba na yung level ng intensity na meron kami ni Bea. Pagdating namin sa mga eksena, talagang masyadong emotional. Ako, I can rest assured na may makukuha ko sa kanya.
"Hindi sa wala akong makukuha kay Sarah," paglilinaw ng aktor, "it's just that yung lalim ng chemistry, masyado nang malalim yung sa amin ni Bea. Kumbaga, sa chemistry, kami ni Sarah, nandoon pa rin kami sa stage ng getting-to-know-you, parang nasa first seven months stage pa rin ng relationship kung ikukumpara mo."
