Bilang bahagi ng paghahanda sa bago niyang role sa upcoming GMA-7 primetime series na Totoy Bato ay nag-aral ng boxing ang Asia's Songbird na si Regine Velasquez. Bagamat singer ang role ni Regine sa third team-up nila ni Robin Padilla, meron din siyang action scenes.
Hindi naman daw sumakit ang katawan ni Regine sa pagbo-boxing.
"Hindi, kasi hindi ako...hindi naman ako nasaktan. Yun nga yung weird, e. To think that I'm not really athletic, pero I was able to do it na hindi naman sumakit yung katawan ko.
"Actually kasi, yung very, very first day na nag-box ako, after that, right after na mag-box ako, nag-swimming ako para hindi magulat... Alam mo yun, para hindi masyadong magulat yung katawan ko," kuwento ni Regine sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
Bukod sa pagboboksing sa Fight Club, nakatulong din daw para pumayat ang Asia's Songbird si Dra. Vicki Belo.
"Belo also helped me, si Dra. Vicki Belo. Kasi madami siyang machine ngayon na pinaplantsa-plantsa lang ang mga jubisey [taba], nawawala, natutunaw. Ang liit kaya ng arms ko ngayon, lumiit siya nang bonggang-bongga!" natatawang pahayag ni Regine.
Kumusta naman ang abs ni Robin? Ngayon kasi, mas lalong in tip-top shape si Robin at naging very hunky ang katawan.
"Sabi ng abs niya, hello daw! Nag-hello," pabirong reaksyon ni Regine.
Ang ganda na kasi ng katawan ngayon ni Robin.
"Oo, pero I've seen him like this before na, e. So, hindi naman ako masyadong nagugulat dahil alam ko namang... Kung medyo lumaki yung tiyan niya, medyo magugulat ako. Pero sexy naman talaga siya, e."
STILL A SINGER. Sa kabisihan ni Regine sa Totoy Bato—to be aired weeknights on GMA-7 starting February 23—paano na ang commitments niya as a singer?
"I'd still do it naman, e. Magtu-tour nga ako, e. So 'pag meron akong tour, kailangan lang nilang mag-advance. So, baka everyday na ang taping namin for Totoy Bato, or siguro mga five times a week."
March and April kasi ay may Divas 4 Divas U.S. tour si Regine with Kuh Ledesma, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Pops Fernandez.
BIRTHDAY GIRL. Malapit na ang birthday ni Regine, April 22. Ano ang mga plano niya para sa kaarawan niya.
"Actually, hindi lang... May mga ginagawa talaga ako tuwing birthday ko, e, hindi ko lang pinapaaalam."
May mga charity work ang Songbird, pero hindi niya ito ipinapasulat.
"Oo, so yun lang."
May mga fans na nagre-request na magkaroon siya ng birthday TV special. Ang sisipag ngang mag-email ng mga fans ni Regine sa ilang press people suggesting concepts para sa TV special ni Regine.
"Well, yung TV special, baka maganda nga kung makakakuha ako ng mga suggestion from the people. Kasi that would be nice, to know what they want to see or hear from me," saad ng Asia's Songbird.
