With Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo's recent marriage in mind, sexy actress Ara Mina, would like to have a quiet wedding in the future. "Kasi ang wedding is a sacred thing. It's another stage of life na papasukin mo," says Ara.

Ara Mina will turn 30 this Saturday, May 9. She is part of GMA-7's top-rating afternoon drama series Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?
When asked for her birthday wish, the sexy actress told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal): "Sana tuloy-tuloy ang dating sa akin ng trabaho at sana ma-maintain ng Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? ang mataas na rating. And good health. Basta maging maayos ang lahat, even sa family ko, wala masyadong intriga. 'Yon lang."
Ara Mina is not known in the business for throwing lavish parties to celebrate special occasions. For her upcoming birthday, Ara said she plans to spend it quietly with her immediate family and perhaps a few close friends.
WEDDING BELLS SOON? Given Ara's well-publicized romance in the past with actors Jomari Yllana and Polo Ravales, it's understandable that she prefers to keep her present relationship with a rich businessman private.
Ara remains resolute in withholding the name of her current boyfriend, a non-showbiz guy who values his privacy.
With a steady relationship, plus the fact that she's in the right age to finally settle down, can we expect to hear wedding bells in the immediate future?
"Kahit mag-propose siya, hindi pa ko ready," Ara answered. "At least man lang three years from now, maybe handa na ko."
It is a question of tying up loose ends in Ara's personal life, as she puts it: "Kailangan ko munang ma-settle 'yong kailangan kong i-settle. Kasi gusto ko medyo mentally, financially, emotionally prepared and physically prepared—magpapayat ako nang husto. Kasi pag nagbuntis ako, baka lumobo ako nang sobra."
Ara agrees with the recent hushed wedding of Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo. "You know what, naiintindihan ko sila. Di ba, sabi ko nga, birthday nga lang napapagod akong mag-entertain [ng guests]. Kasi ang wedding is a sacred thing, e. It's another stage of life na papasukin mo. So siguro, gusto lang nila maging sacred 'yong wedding nila and tama 'yong ginawa nila na reception na lang for other friends.
"Kasi alam mo naman dito sa showbiz, ginagawan pa ng intriga o issue kahit na 'yong wedding gown, papansinin, 'Magkano ba 'to?' Yung worth ng singsing, 'yong mga ganun, lahat kinakalkal. Kaya nga 'pag kasama ko boyfriend ko, parang hindi ako artista. Mas maganda naba-balance 'yong life mo, kasi minsan nakakaumay na 'yong intriga."
NETWORK ISSUES. Ara's stint in Totoy Bato and Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? affirmed that her relationship with GMA-7 remains amicable despite her decision to work with ABS-CBN for a few projects.
"Nagpapatunay lang na wala akong bad blood sa [GMA-7] kasi kinuha ako ulit ng GMA. And I'm happy kasi natupad 'yong usapan namin ng GMA na after doing some shows in Channel 2, I can do shows here again, and parang tinupad nila 'yong promise," said Ara.
She continues to work as a freelancer. Rumor has it that Ara is set to re-join the country's longest running gag show, Bubble Gang.
"Well, gusto ko talaga," she admitted. "Kahit ako tanungin n'yo, gusto kong bumalik ng Bubble Gang. Kasi hindi naman biro 'yon na halos isang buwan kong iniyakan 'yon. Nag-leave lang naman talaga ko sa Bubble Gang.
"Kaya lang, maybe after ng Dapat Ba Kitang Mahalin? ako makakapag-guest dun o makakabalik. Dahil ang taping ng Bubble Gang is every Monday, and every Monday, we have taping ng Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?"
