Isinugod sa hospital kagabi, May 11, ang singer na si Christian Bautista dahil sa hinihinalang dengue. Hindi tuloy nasipot ng Asia's Pop Idol ang isang singing engagement sa lalawigan ng Isabela.
Lunes ng umaga, May 11, 11:50 a.m. dapat ang biyahe ni Christian via Philippine Airlines patungong Isabela. Magse-serenade sana ang singer sa mga kandidata ng Binibining Isabela 2009, sa imbitasyon nina Governor Grace Padaca at Board Member Jaime Atayde. Ginanap ang coronation night kagabi, May 11, sa bayan ng Ilagan bilang bahagi ng selebrasyon ng 153rd Isabela Day.
Pero umaga pa lang ng Lunes, nakatanggap ng forwarded text message mula sa road manager ni Christian ang taong kumontak sa balladeer for the event.
Ayon sa mensahe, Sabado, May 9, ay maayos pa ang pakiramdam ni Christian at nag-workout pa ito sa gym. Kinagabihan, sumakit na raw ang ulo nito. The following day, May 10, buong katawan na raw ni Christian ang masakit at nilalagnat na ito.
Ayon pa sa text message from Christian's road manager, nanghihina na ang singer at gusto na nitong magpadala sa ospital.
Kaninang hapon, May 12, nakatanggap naman ng forwarded message mula sa road manager ni Christian. Ito ang nakalagay sa text message: "From Christian's mom: na-confine siya last night (Monday) sa Cavite Hospital. He needs another round of blood test tomorrow to confirm initial test findings of being positive for dengue."
