Almost three decades since the Sharon-Gabby tandem was launched via the movie Dear Heart, fans are still hoping that a reunion movie would be in the works this year.
During the album launch of Sharon Cuneta, there was still clamor for their love team, but she doesn't want to risk losing the "peace" that surrounds her family and that of her ex-husband's.

Tomorrow, May 20, ang alis ng mag-inang Sharon Cuneta at KC Concepcion for their concert tour in the U.S. and Canada, from May 23 to June 14. Kasama rin nilang aalis si Sen. Kiko Pangilinan at sina Frankie and Miel, na parehong mami-miss daw agad ng Megastar dahil mas mauunang bumalik ang mag-aama sa Pilipinas para sa pagbubukas ng klase sa June 1.
But before Sharon left, nag-launch muna siya ng kanyang first children's album from Sony Music Entertainment, ang 18-track (with minus one) na Children's Rhymes & Lullabies, which includes "Alphabet Song," "Jack & Jill," "I'm A Little Teapot," "Magtanim ay Di Biro," "Bahay Kubo"—na paulit-ulit daw kinakanta ni Miel dahil gusto nitong ma-memorize ang pangalan ng mga prutas at gulay—at marami pang iba.
The album press launch was held yesterday, May 18, sa isang merienda cena sa Santan Room, na nasa Garden Wing ng EDSA Shangri-la Plaza Hotel, Mandaluyong City.
Ang kuwento ng lead star ng BFF (Best Friends Forever), "Nagka-idea ako na gumawa ng ganitong album, dahil napapansin namin ni Kiko na kanta nang kanta sina Frankie at Miel ng mga lullabies na ito kapag dumating na sila from their Learning Tree School ni teacher Francie Lacanilao.
"Sinabi ko ito kay Kiko, at umayon naman siya na maganda nga raw ang naisip ko. Masaya ako na nang i-bring out ko ito sa mga bosses ko sa Sony Music, nagustuhan nila ang idea ko, dahil wala pa nga raw local album na ganito ang concept. Iyon na, pumili na kami ng mga songs, inalam kung alin iyong public domain na at iyong iba, binayaran ng producers ko.
"Nag-enjoy akong i-record ang mga lullabies na hindi namin napapansin, sinikatan na pala kami ng araw sa recording studio. Hopefully, bigyan kami ng recommendation ng Department of Education & Culture na magamit ito sa mga nursery schools."
Excited na rin si Sharon sa volume 2 ng album dahil mga regional songs naman daw ang laman nito at ilalabas na rin daw ito pagbalik niya mula sa concert tour nila ni KC.
Makakasabay daw nito ang release ng volume 3 ng kanyang romantic album mula pa rin sa Sony Music.
AT PEACE WITH GABBY. Inilaan ni Sharon ang araw na iyon para sa press at media dahil sa susunod na buwan pa nga siya babalik sa bansa. At ang advice pa niya sa mga dumalo na showbiz editors and reporters, itanong na raw lahat sa kanya ang gustong itanong.
Isa sa mga naging topic ay ang reaksiyon ng mga manonood sa cameo role ni Gabby Concepcion sa BFF, na pinagbibidahan nila ni Ai-Ai.
"Nakakagulat nga ang reaction nila noong premiere night at marami talagang nagtatanong sa akin, kahit ang mga teens ngayon, na siguro ay naikukuwento sa kanila ng mga mothers nila, kung gaano kalakas ang love team namin noon ni Gabby," nakangiting sagot ni Sharon.
"Wala na naman kaming problema ni Gabby and I have nothing to forgive na, pero gusto kong ma-maintain ang peace at ang magandang relasyon namin.
"Mahal ko ang asawa at mga anak ko. My husband is not from showbiz, ganoon din ang wife ni Gabby, at ayaw kong maging circus na naman ang buhay namin. Gabby has a very wonderful wife and daughter, si Samantha. Alam ko tulad ko, gusto rin ni Gabby na maprotektahan ang kanyang pamilya.
"Alam ko, masaya si KC sa nangyayari sa amin ng Papa niya kaya ang mahalaga na lamang ay iyong nakikita namin ang happiness and peace na nararamdaman niya dahil ayos na kami ni Gabby.
"Ang relasyon namin kasi ni Gabby is very different naman from my former boyfriends, sina Richard [Gomez] at Robin [Padilla]."
GUIDING DAUGHTER KC. Still on KC, okey ba siya na nali-link ngayon si KC sa katambal nito ngayon sa Lovers in Paris na si Piolo Pascual?
"Oh, yes, I feel safe when she's with Piolo, he's very respectable. 'Saka mas gusto ko rin iyong mga bago niyang friends, dinadala niya sa bahay, kaysa iyong mababalitaan ko kung saan-saan sila nakikita. Natatawa na lamang ako kapag tatawag si KC at itatanong kung may food daw kami good for ten people. Masaya ako kasi nakikilala at nagiging friends ko na rin sila, or let's say, parang mga anak ko na sila, nadagdagan ang mga anak ko."
Is KC living in her condo unit?
"No, nandoon siya sa guest house namin sa Wack-Wack, sa tapat ng bahay namin. She's still waiting for her condo to be finished. Siguro, next year, makalipat na siya roon. Minsan nga, sabi ko sa kanya, puwede na siyang mag-asawa ngayon. She's already 24, kung gusto niya at sabi ko, when she has her babies, send them to me at ako na ang magpapalaki sa kanila at mag-enjoy na lamang sila ng asawa niya," natatawang patuloy ni Sharon.
