Engaged na ang actress-TV host na si Rica Peralejo sa kanyang boyfriend of 10 months na si Joseph Bonifacio, isang pastor sa Victory Christian Fellowship, kung saan miyembro rin si Rica.

 

Noong una ay hindi raw pinapansin ni Rica si Joseph kahit na nagkikita na sila sa Victory. Pero noong marinig niya raw itong magbigay ng sermon, humanga siya sa batang pastor hanggang sa pagtagpuin na nga ng Diyos ang kanilang mga puso.

 

Pagkatapos ng sampung buwan ng kanilang relasyon, nag-propose na nga ng kasal si Joseph sa Sonia's Garden sa Tagaytay at tinanggap naman ito ni Rica.

 

Sa live guesting ni Rica sa The Buzz last Sunday, June 7, nagbigay siya ng detalye tungkol sa proposal, pati na rin sa kanilang relationship ni Joseph,  sa interview ng co-host ng programa na si Kris Aquino.

 

Inumpisahan ni Kris ang interview sa pamamagitan ng pagbabasa ng text message na ipinadala ni Joseph sa The Buzz para kay Rica.

 

Ayon sa text message ni Joseph: "Hi sweetheart! It's been a week since you made me the happiest man alive by saying yes. I constantly marvel about the idea that I'm about to marry the girl of my dreams, who's also my best friend. See you later!"

 

Kris: Bakit, saan kayo pupunta?

Rica: Wala lang.

 

Kris: You've been together ilang buwan?

Rica: Ten months.

 

Kris. Okay. At ang ikina-shock ng marami... siyempre, nowadays it is shocking, di ba? Yung as in hindi pa raw kayo nagki-kiss?

Rica: Ah, okay, yeah, hindi pa kami nagki-kiss.

 

Kris: Sa lips. Siguro naman beso-beso meron.

Rica: Meron. And we hug and we hold each other's hands. Pretty much normal, wala lang kiss and everything.

 

Kris: Siyempre naman everything else wala, kung kiss nga wala, e. Because he is a pastor?

Rica: Not really. I said this yesterday, when I guested on Wowowee na, he could be a businessman, di ba, kahit ano pa ang trabaho niya. But I would still make the same stand, na I would want to get to that. Kasi marami na rin naman akong pinagdaanan. And I found that it doesn't really work that way, especially for me. I don't condemn people who do that, I don't say that it's the wrong thing. Kaya lang ako, sa lahat ng nagpadaanan ko, I really like to be careful.

 

Kris: You know that this is the right path to take. Tama, di ba?

Rica: Yes.

 

Kris: It is in Sonia's Garden [proposal]... anong oras exactly?

Rica: Actually, dapat mga 9 p.m., ready na kami. Mga nine, 9:30, ready na siya. Siyempre, nalaman ko ito after na ng lahat. But I think his brother... Kasi his brother helped him with everything, changed plans. His brother is David... I think you met him already.

 

Kris: I met him sa bookstore. Kasi ang tagal-tagal ng pilahan. Naawa ako sa kanya kasi ang tagal-tagal niya. Siya yung nagkuwento sa akin. Sinabi niya, "My brother is dating an actress." Sabi ko, 'Who'? "Rica." Oh, your brother is a pastor. Hindi mo pa ina-announce nung time na yun. Tingnan mo, madali akong ka-chika! Sa bookstore lang nakaka-chika na ako. O, tapos?

Rica: Yun pala, yung iba sa engagement, sa proposal, na aside from the one you're going to marry, it's the relationship around you. It's like our friends, our spiritual family, na nag-help talaga sa kanya to prepare everything. Like yung best friend ko, siya yung talagang in charge of all the flowers, ganun. Yung brother naman niya is an artist, so parang siya yung sa designs.

 

Kris: Painter siya, di ba? O, naalala ko!

Rica: Oo, ang galing ni Ate Kris!

 

Kris: Cute siya kaya ko siya naalala. May hitsura. The pictures of your boyfriend or your fiancé, they don't do him justice. Kasi feeling ko, he's much cuter, basing it on the brother, ha. Di ba?

Rica: Yeah, actually, ayoko talaga yung mga pictures niya.

 

Kris: Magbigay ka na ng bago para sa SNN, sa mga follow-up story namin, yung pogi na siya talaga.

Rica: Magbibigay talaga ako.

 

Kris: Do you remember noong nag-Pinoy Bingo Night ka? We taped that probably three to four days prior to the proposal. Tinawag kita 'pastora.' At sinabi ko, di ba, kung si Whitney Houston naging preacher's wife, sabi ko ikaw yun. Nagkatotoo!

Rica: Oo nga, same week after that, yun na pala yun.

 

Kris: Okay, I really followed Joel Austin. I know na yung wife niya takes an active participation with the church. Will you be like that?

Rica: Actually, maraming nagsasabi sa akin, are you worried being a pastor's wife? Kasi iba daw yung calling and stuff.

 

Kris: No, no parang ang saya kasi 7th Heaven, pinanood ko lahat ng episodes noon.

Rica: Masaya siya, pero I got really good advice, well, from many people, lalo na yung pastors' wives talaga. Sinasabi nila sa akin na, "You know it's not so much different from being a wife and a mother. First and foremost, you're a wife, then a mother. You just have to take care of those roles and you'll be the best for your husband."
