Four years after he left ABS-CBN, the 20-year-old Jolo Revilla is back to being a Kapamilya. And his project? The TV remake of Pepeng Agimat, which was originally topbilled by his grandfather Ramon Revilla Sr.

The 1973 movie will be part of the upcoming primetime show of ABS-CBN called Agimat... Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla, Sr. This program will bring back four of his epic films—Hulihin si Tiagong Akyat (1973), Tonyong Bayawak (1979), Ang Mahiwagang Daigdig ni Elyas Paniki (1989), and Pepeng Agimat (1973)—which will feature young actors Gerald Anderson, Coco Martin, Jake Cuenca, and Jolo, respectively.

Jolo immediately clarified that doing the said project for ABS-CBN does not mean he's already an exclusive artist of the network.  "Hindi naman ako nag-ober da bakod," Jolo said during the press announcement of the four Agimat stars last June 19, at the 9501 Restaurant at the ABS-CBN Compound in Quezon City.

He continued, "Actually, parehas ko pong bahay ang GMA-7 and, of course, ang ABS-CBN dahil nanggaling din naman po ako dito noong time ng Seasons of Love.

"Wala rin naman po akong contract sa Channel 7. I'm still open, kumbaga, hindi pa naman sarado ang utak ko. Siyempre, ako, dahil nandito ako at tinanggap naman ako nang maluwag, masaya naman ako at sana walang magbago."

The second son of Sen. Bong Revilla also expressed his gratitude to ABS-CBN for doing a TV version Lolo Ramon's past movies.

"Siyempre, masaya nga ako kasi naging part nga ako dito sa Agimat. Of course, sino ba naman yung hindi matutuwa dito?  Kumbaga, isang malaking karangalan ito para sa akin. 

"Una po sa lahat, gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa ABS-CBN dahil binigyan nila ng malaking opportunity kaming apat dito sa pagganap sa malaking pelikula ng aking lolo. At isa din po, nagpapasalamat ako dahil binigyang pagkakataon ng ABS-CBN ang pagkaalamat ng aking lolo," he said.

Before the press conference, an AVP featuring Bong Revilla, who gave a backgrounder about his father's Agimat movies, was shown to the media and press people. The senator also wished the stars good luck. "Good luck, especially to you, Jolo.  Galingan mo, huwag mong ipapahiya ang ating angkan," he said.

Jolo was smiling while watching his dad on the video, but he also admitted feeling the pressure. "Siguro kahit papaano mayroon kasi, may comparison sa aming tatlo. Siyempre, ako naman ay naghahanda. Basta magugulat na lang kayo. Basta ang masasabi ko, gagawin ko ang lahat ng aking makakaya, at siyempre, hindi ko pababayaan ang show," was his response to his dad's challenge.

FOLLOWING IN HIS FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS.  Meanwhile, many noticed Jolo's improvement in answering the questions of the press. A showbiz reporter even asked him if he also has plans of entering politics like his father.

"Actually, tatapusin ko muna ang pag-aaral ko. Yung tamang panahon, darating yan," he answered.

Is ge going to follow in his dad's footsteps after graduating?

Jolo reiterated, "Of course, bakit naman hindi? Ang masasabi ko, magtatapos muna ako ng pag-aaral. Ayaw ko na sumama ang loob ng magulang ko dahil hindi ako nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral."

Jolo will be graduating October next year after his Management course at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati City.
