Inamin ni Gary Valenciano na grandpa na talaga siya kung tutuusin. Ang pinakamatandang anak ng eldest brother niya ay mayroon na raw tatlong anak, and they call him Papi Gary.

"I love them because they call me Papi, and it's not spelled L-O-L-O, huh!" natatawang  sabi ni Gary V. "Okey lang sa akin na maging lolo na. When I had Paolo, I was only 19. Paoli is already 24, and in the next four years, baka maging daddy na rin siya.

"Nagtanong na rin siya sa akin if he wants to start early. Paolo is a planner kasi. Sineguro niya that when he gets married, he has enough to support his family.

"Pero si Gabriel ang unang nagtanong sa akin niyan, e. I told him, why is he going to do that? I mean, starting early. Ang sabi niya, he likes the fact that he can go mountain biking pa with me, skydiving, and can still do basketball with me.

"Ayaw naman daw niya na mag-aasawa siya ng, let's say, 30 years old.  By the time he reaches 35, around four or five years old na ang anak niya. I just told him, what me and his mom [Angeli Pangilinan] have gone through, it's nothing short of a miracle.

"Not all relationships end up like that. Ask your friends, and they maybe got parents who married young, but they are no longer together. It's not just responsibility to the child.  It's the responsibility to the person na pakakasalan mo," katuwiran pa ni Gary.

JUST LIKE DAD. Napag-isip daw si Gabrial sa parteng yun.  His sons love children.

"Yun din siguro ang gusto niyang mangyari, na he can still do singing and dancing with his kids in the future," nangingiting sabi ni Gary V. "Enjoy naman talaga yun, but I have to warn him.

"Mahirap basta magpakasal, 'cause you're like a stallion on the loose, then suddenly, you'll be chained. I know my kids won't like it at the moment. I want them to walk on their stable, and close their stable themselves. They got to be very wise on their

decision."

Bilang kaibigan naman, silang dalawa ni Martin Nievera ay maraming dahilan para mag-celebrate together. For more than 25 years in their respective careers, for the first time, magsasama sila sa isang grandiosong concert na sila ang main attractions. Ito ay ang As 1, na magaganap sa SM Mall of Asia open grounds sa September l9, 2009.

"Mataas talaga ang respeto ko kay Martin, at okey rin lang na mauna siya sa billing. Never na magiging problema sa amin 'yan. Although I came ahead of him in the scene, siya yung unang nag-take off ang career, nagka-album, nagka-concert.

"Mas na-experience niya earlier kung ano ang na-experience ko noong nagsisimula pa lang kami, at dahil d'yan, I don't mind na mauna ang pangalan ni Martin sa akin," sabi ni Gary.

PROFESSIONAL RIVALS, CLOSE FRIENDS. Sa kabila ng professional rivalry nila, naging magkaibigan ang dalawa to the point na nagse-share na sila ng personal sentiments and private matters na kadalasa'y iniiyakan din nila together.

"Hindi kami nahihiyang magkaiyakan kung talagang kailangan," sabi ni Gary. "Yung management firms namin, it's a good thing, they really guided us na hindi dapat pinepersonal ang mga bagay na ganito. 

"Mas maganda talaga yung pahalagahan ang friendship, at lahat kami, yung mga tao sa paligid namin, magkakaibigan din talaga. Even small things, we share together. Kaya maski failures, sama ng loob, hindi kami nahihiyang magsabi sa isa't isa ni Martin.
