Robin Padilla is truly a stylish bad boy.
Tagged the "Bad Boy of Philippine Movies," Robin Padilla leads this September's FHM Philippines' list of 20 most stylish men in the country. Robin is also FHM's first-ever male celebrity to be on its cover.
According to the top men's magazine, the action star was chosen to lead the roster because he is "iconic."
"He is building a myth around him without even trying," says FHM.
Other male celebrities featured in the Most Stylish list are boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, actor Eddie Garcia, King of Comedy Dolphy, Joseph "Erap" Estrada, humorist Joey de Leon, matinee idol Richard Gomez, lawmaker Teddy Locsin Jr., dancer and comedian Vhong Navarro, singer Billy Crawford, and racer Matteo Guidicelli.
The personalities were selected because they are "fierce individualists" who "look good" while working in their various fields, says FHM.
The FHM feature on Robin Padilla has an exclusive one-on-one interview and photos of Robin sporting designer suits, slacks and shoes. The action star is usually seen in his hit movies and TV shows wearing leather jackets, tattered jeans and rugged boots.
Earlier, Robin told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Oo nga, e. Kailangan ko pang titigan talaga nang husto para makilala ko ang sarili ko. Ibang klase! Ganyan kaganda ang ginawa nila sa pagiging cover ko, kaya salamat sa FHM."
Robin added that the shoot, managed by ace lensman Jun de Leon, was a great experience.
"Nagustuhan ko at nag-enjoy ako sa pictorial namin, naging natural lang ako. May mga nagustuhan nga ako sa mga damit na sinuot ko. Nabili ko tuloy yung isang set! May mga inaawitan pa ako na iba na gusto ko!" Robin said.
Robin also asked his fans to buy the magazine, naming it a "collector's item."
FHM Philippines' September 2009 edition with Robin as the cover is a special collector's double issue featuring "FHM Collections." It deals with men's fashion styles.
FHM Sexiest Woman for 2009 Cristine Reyes graces the cover of the main magazine issue.
