After being seen in the ABS-CBN hit primetime series Tayong Dalawa, Agot Isidro is back doing what she loves best: Singing.

Yesterday, October 14, at the Discovery Suites in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Polyeast Records officially launched Agot's new album titled White Lace and Promises—a 12-track album composed of some of the singer's favorite wedding songs of all time.

"Ang dami naming mga pinagpilian na kanta. 'Yong consideration was the lyrics of course and the popularity of the songs. Some of the songs I've actually sang in weddings like 'This Will Be,' 'Runaway,' 'yan nakanta ko na lahat 'yan like the others," Agot explained to the media.

It took Agot almost three years before making a follow-up to her last record The Island, released in 2006 and inspired by the popularity of the bossa nova trend during the period. The absence of an album doesn't mean that Agot was totally missing in action.

What she lacked in radio airplay she more than made up with television appearances, namely, Komiks Presents, Rounin, Celebrity Duets, Maalaala Mo Kaya, Lobo and only recently, Tayong Dalawa.

THE WEDDING SINGER. It was Polyeast Records that broached the idea for Agot to record a collection of songs commonly played during weddings. Incidentally, the singer-actress at the time just sang at the private early morning wedding of young superstar Judy Ann Santos to boyfriend Ryan Agoncillo in Batangas.

Playing the role of a "wedding singer" both in and outside the studio tickled Agot's fancy prompting her to immediately accept the  proposal. More than the songs in the album, White Lace and Promises fully breathes its concept as evidenced by the album packaging replicating wedding invitations for the acknowledgement and credits.

Agot's husband Manu Sandejas agreed to be her love interest in the accompanying layout photos after the Brazilian model originally eyed to appear alongside the singer reportedly disappeared.

"Sabi nila [the production team behind the album] 'Agot, puwede ba 'yong asawa mo?'" she laughingly recalled being asked. "Pumayag naman si Manu tapos ang kabayaran lang isang dinner na masarap."

CHANGE OF CAREER. Speaking of Manu, Agot happily told the press that their nine-year marriage continues to "do well." The couple  tied the knot on October 7, 2000 at the St. John Bosco Church in Laguna, and recently celebrated their anniversary.

While Agot is busy juggling both her singing and acting careers, Manu is busy managing his own business since leaving the advertising industry which was his chosen field for many years.

"Napuno na siya sa advertising," laughed Agot, trying to explain her husband's change of occupation. "Advertising is a very fast-paced profession and pag medyo matanda ka na mahirap na to keep up."

Manu's career shift from advertising to business and, at the same time, Agot's hectic taping activities was a difficult situation. They  had to make a lot of adjustments.

"When he did that it was difficult for both of us in the beginning kasi siyempre he had to establish himself again. Ngayon, at this time entrepreneur na siya, so merong mga adjustments na kailangan and during that time naman I was also doing Tayong Dalawa, so medyo ngarag din ako sa taping, so hindi kami masyadong nakakapag-usap."

Agot and Manu eventually managed to adjust to the situation as well as to the demands of their respective professions.
